^ This is why I suggested posting (or quietly linking to) a crash dump file for possible analysis. RAM is definitely a good place to begin, if looking at the actual hardware becomes necessary. The first thing I would do in a case of RAM issues is actually just simply reseating the RAM after hitting the slots with some compressed air. I've seen that simple check/fix make some of the most dramatic performance changes an end user can do themselves. It doesn't matter if any are obviously loose or anything, do them all. It can be dirt ingested by the fans, and it can even be "manufacturing material" left inside a brand new machine. Other hardware issues are usually more obvious, poorly seated RAM symptoms can be seemingly unrelated until you do it and things magically work right again.

Some people aren't comfortable just flashing BIOS so leave that until the end. Almost everything else will be captured in a dump file.

After a bit more checking on that page, i see that this board is actually very picky about it's ram requirement for any memory configuration over 32gb total (i.e. many ram modules won't reliably use all 4 slots even with 16gb sticks) - specifically i can't see any compatibility with patriot memory over 32gb (i.e. 16gb x 2), unless you use the patriot PVER548G60C42KW 24gb modules on four slots i.e. 96gb.

Would xidax swap your current ram for 64gb of ram that actually works with this board? - make them say yes!

    You're most welcome.
Yes, xidax should flag these kind of issues when customers place their orders - give 'em hell for their sins :)

Xanax can help with a wide range of computer problems. It's a combination memory dump function and power off button.

LOL  I think i dodged this info... So that's the reason why Ableton users never finish their songs, it's because the DAW is crashing all the time :bleh::disco:

my Ableton works fine and its been AIR, DYNAMICS and since v9 powered by R2R.
I noticed that 3rd party Plugins can make serious problems. (not down to legit or blessed, but in general), so i reduced the 3rd party plugin toolbox by a lot. Only 50-60 external plugin, if i can i will go for internal stock devices integrated into Live. And its been smooth since i started doing that (around 2018 i think).

Also debloating windows always helps. Using scripts, deactivating services. No Anti-Virus or internet security, because this can be annoying and stealing resources.

If on a desktop, dont use it with internet ...

In other words Blessed software is in the most ways not the culprit of what you are describing.

What is eating half your memory?
Is that while running a project or something?
    35.3 G available out of 63.8 G?
    WTF?
Oh i see it may be a > 32 Gig issue for the MB
Well, fingers crossed, but that seems a bad thing for a MB

Live helped me get back into e music, but it is very limited. I remember, maybe 16 years ago, I was in a friends studio while he was recording a group. I was using live 8 or 9 and I loved it. I thought he was just being excessive when he told my that live was just a toy not a real pro solution. I kept on with Live until do what I wanted to do with and found Reaper. I did look back maybe 2 times. Reinstalled Live and within a few minutes closed the program. Max doesn't need Live`...

Buying the absolute high end of hardware is the best way to make sure you'll never have a stable system. The top end of GPUs, CPUs, MoBos, .. also run at the absolute limit of material science at that point in time and with absurd software defaults to get them to even boot up at those speeds.

The "best" hardware is high end MINUS at least one tier (ie. higher end of mainstream, below "UlTrA GaMiNG 7.5D" and well below "why does the metal around my PSU start glowing red hot when I start up Cyberpunk 2077?).

cracked software has nothing to do with your crashes. try the demos of the cracked software and see how it goes.

talked to them earlier and they said the ram was compatible. did a remote session and they did a few things and updated my bios and said to see if this runs smoother before going any further. I did try to stem split with rx 11 and it didnt blue screen which it did every time so well see how it goes. i got this error message ive never seen before when i tried opening a project earlier. so im assuming that some of the major problems ive been having lately may be due to this waves ultimate going bad. i think its waves 14 vr

    1. Hello @Nick Bellagio, delete Waves completely:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves
    C:\Users\Public\Waves Audio
    C:\ProgramData\Waves Audio

    (Hidden Folder)
    C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Waves Audio
    C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Waves Audio
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
    WaveShell1-VST3 15.0_x64.vst3
    WaveShell1-VST3 15.2_x64.vst3
    WaveShell2-VST3 15.0_x64.vst3
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\WPAPI

Scan your hard drive with the term: WaveShell and delete them.
Go to the Registry --> Run --> Regedit and delete the following folder:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Waves

    2. Restart the PC, Deactivate Defender, Download and Install this one:
Waves Complete v2025.08.06 Patched and Keygen Only-R2R
    Team R2R | 08 Aug 2025 | 4.5MB

    3. Team R2R NFO - Waves Complete Patched + KeyGen Release
The included version of patched "WavesLicenseEngine.bundle" is v3.0.0.5.
    - Install Waves.
    - Copy our patched "WavesLicenseEngine.bundle" to "%PROGRAMDATA%\Waves Audio\Modules".
    - Run included "Show_Me_Devices.cmd".
It shows your activatable device (LAN/MACAddress or removable disk) and its "Device ID".
    - Run our keygen, select "Type", input "Device ID", generate license.
    - Copy generated license file to valid location which is shown by "Show_Me_Devices.cmd".
    - Restart computer (recommended).

    4. User comment help:
    - install waves central.
    - Go to Offline Installer in WC and us the install offline feature at the bottom.
    - You will be prompted to point at a folder.
    - Point to the one you downloaded and all the plugins will appear.
    - Install from there and stay out of the other tabs in WC.
    - You are now at the "install Waves" part of the R2R instructions.
    - Follow exactly if you have finished offline install and you're golden.

    A couple of things -
If I were you, just as a verification, I would boot and run MEMtest and run all tests for 24 hours and see if there are any errors. It will save you the expense of blindly shot-gunning issues.

You didn't build the machine (from your own testament). It was actually built by an integrator who at times are not very practical. Most serious PC folks usually build their own (i.e. doing the research, getting the parts, verifying the parts, and assembling the finished product). Not rocket science but very effective for being confident you have a properly built hardware platform at the end of the day.

One thing I guess I missed was "windows 10 HOME"? Hmmm.. Win10 HOME wouldn't be my first or even second thought for OS for a media production platform. Win10 Pro 22H2 GhostSpectre SuperLite, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 LTSC (as a base install, before optimizing), Win11 Pro Ghostspectre SuperLite, Win11 Pro LTSC (as a base install, before optimizing) would be suggestions that come to mind for solid production platforms. Also, if that hardware has a "TPM" installed I would remove that thing immediately.
