Is This Just the Price of Using Cracked Software?

^ This is why I suggested posting (or quietly linking to) a crash dump file for possible analysis. RAM is definitely a good place to begin, if looking at the actual hardware becomes necessary. The first thing I would do in a case of RAM issues is actually just simply reseating the RAM after hitting the slots with some compressed air. I've seen that simple check/fix make some of the most dramatic performance changes an end user can do themselves. It doesn't matter if any are obviously loose or anything, do them all. It can be dirt ingested by the fans, and it can even be "manufacturing material" left inside a brand new machine. Other hardware issues are usually more obvious, poorly seated RAM symptoms can be seemingly unrelated until you do it and things magically work right again.

Some people aren't comfortable just flashing BIOS so leave that until the end. Almost everything else will be captured in a dump file.

After a bit more checking on that page, i see that this board is actually very picky about it's ram requirement for any memory configuration over 32gb total (i.e. many ram modules won't reliably use all 4 slots even with 16gb sticks) - specifically i can't see any compatibility with patriot memory over 32gb (i.e. 16gb x 2), unless you use the patriot PVER548G60C42KW 24gb modules on four slots i.e. 96gb.

Would xidax swap your current ram for 64gb of ram that actually works with this board? - make them say yes!

    You're most welcome.
Yes, xidax should flag these kind of issues when customers place their orders - give 'em hell for their sins :)

Xanax can help with a wide range of computer problems. It's a combination memory dump function and power off button.

LOL  I think i dodged this info... So that's the reason why Ableton users never finish their songs, it's because the DAW is crashing all the time :bleh::disco:

my Ableton works fine and its been AIR, DYNAMICS and since v9 powered by R2R.
I noticed that 3rd party Plugins can make serious problems. (not down to legit or blessed, but in general), so i reduced the 3rd party plugin toolbox by a lot. Only 50-60 external plugin, if i can i will go for internal stock devices integrated into Live. And its been smooth since i started doing that (around 2018 i think).

Also debloating windows always helps. Using scripts, deactivating services. No Anti-Virus or internet security, because this can be annoying and stealing resources.

If on a desktop, dont use it with internet ...

In other words Blessed software is in the most ways not the culprit of what you are describing.

What is eating half your memory?
Is that while running a project or something?

    WTF?
Oh i see it may be a > 32 Gig issue for the MB
Well, fingers crossed, but that seems a bad thing for a MB

Live helped me get back into e music, but it is very limited. I remember, maybe 16 years ago, I was in a friends studio while he was recording a group. I was using live 8 or 9 and I loved it. I thought he was just being excessive when he told my that live was just a toy not a real pro solution. I kept on with Live until do what I wanted to do with and found Reaper. I did look back maybe 2 times. Reinstalled Live and within a few minutes closed the program. Max doesn't need Live`...
