Roland Galaxias won't open, hangs on "Updating Scene Collection". Followed R2R instructions. What have I forgotten or done wrong? Latest Win 10.

Steps to Install the R2R Root Certificate

   • Locate and double-click the R2RCA.cer file.
2. Install Certificate
   • Select the option 'Install Certificate' when prompted.

   • Choose 'Local Machine' as the store location.

   • Follow the prompts to place the certificate in the 'Trusted Root Certification Authorities' store.

Verification
After installation, it is important to verify that the certificate has been installed correctly:

• Use the provided checker tool (R2RCERTEST.exe) to confirm that the R2R Root Certificate is recognized by your system.

Troubleshooting Tips
If you encounter issues during installation:

• Ensure you are running the installation as an administrator.
• Confirm that you are placing the certificate in the correct store: 'Trusted Root Certification Authorities'.
• Restart your computer if the certificate does not appear to be installed after following the steps.

By following these instructions, you should be able to install the R2R Root Certificate successfully.

2) Install R2R System v1.3.1
3) install Cloud Ultimate
4) install ZENOLOGY Content
5) Install Galaxias
6) take ownership or give permissions to C:\ProgramData\Roland Cloud
7) restart system

After system restart open Galaxias standalone, click on instrument tab & open each plugin one-by-one. Close Galaxias, reopen & everything should be good.

btw...R2R recommends uninstalling any previous Zeonolgy or Roland Cloud product after save & backing up any custom presets.

 

This part: "6) take ownership or give permissions to C:\ProgramData\Roland Cloud". It's embarrassing, but I have to admit I'm not sure how to do this correctly after all these years. Update: I figured this out and now it says I have full control in properties, but the app still hangs at "Updating Scene Collection". This is very frustrating. It's strange, but all the separate synths and fx work flawlessly in Reaper. However, I would like to also be able to use them in Galaxias.

How do you give permissions for a folder like that? Just wondering cause I’m more familiar with having Mac and its permissions and having to run commands to reset/give to the user codesign to work

 

Roland puts "Galaxias User" folder DIRECTLY into the User main folder, not even using a vendor (Roland) folder.

As if they are the only fucking software on the computer.

 

I installed everything and works great but I am worried because in the settings of Galaxias it says my Roland Cloud expires in 100,000 days.

 

in 274 years your descendants will be pissed when it expires!!

 

Not to mention Windows will be on version 74,345 by then, so the crack might not be backwards compatible!
