I played that, but before Quake 1 (btw NIN OST audio tracks were included with the CD, still have it somewhere), plus all possible ancillary mods/utilities.
Dos right? Wow so much fcking fun time. Do you remember Aliens Wad - "GAME OVER MAN!!!"?
I still have somewhere CDs full of wads.
I liked MP 2. great OST btw.
AVP - great, I played more than one I think. The sound of the motion tracker was unnerving.

I play older games... I'm a PC gamer that occasionally goes to handheld.
I am playing a lot of Morrowind on my Steam Deck and Settlers 2 on my PC. That's pretty much it. Any more than this and my brain gets fried.

hey good effort Korg3r, i didn't actually expect you to post a score -- you're awesome!
I havent touched an FPS since the last Battlefield beta? I uninstalled straight after it finished. It was very clear that shit aint for me anymore.
I cant even remember the last FPS I played played prior to that Battlefield beta... probably some old version of COD
Oh and a game called Enemy Territory, it was one of the first multiplayer shooters to go free back in the day. Pro-mod ofcourse not the shit vanilla version

Crimson Desert @1440p right now. Great open world rpg, full of quests and things to do. Just not as plot deep as Witcher 3 or Skyrim perhaps but still as triple A as it gets. I just don't have enough time for it dammit.

    @Fluxxx
Just remembered that i blatantly lied, i played STALKER- Anomaly for 4 months straight from the end of 2024, unfortunately the gpu died amidst game and i tucked in a wallet sized old backup card and just forgot about gaming. Interesting how i need to excuse myself from not having a better score  It shows how crazy it was...people dont understand.

COD2 was on the menu too, but it felt easy, grenade spamming, kar98 etc... and i never played Battlefied, maybe i did...i do remember people being pissed at some point.
Enemy territory, it sounds like you played Delta Force too? Or Americas Army 2.8.5.? Ofcorse CS1.6?

    Enemy Territory - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1873030/Wolfenstein_Enemy_Territory/

Its an arcade style shooter, based on the original RTCW game. It was a game that rewarded aim but they tried to balance it out with a lot of spam in the vanilla version. This is why I mentioned promod - the spam was regulated. You could only have 1 panzafaust per team, and nades were limited to 1 per player. 3 headshots with SMG = kill... for me thats good... I could multi-kill pretty well in that system. Other players obviously preferred higher damage, campy style games and played COD.

I only played COD to play with friends... i found it too campy tbh and my issue was the frag didnt feel anywhere near satisfying. That said I know if i wanted to play it at comp level I could have, because ive played against dudes who have done that.

Good example of the game, although if I'm going to be super picky -- their aim isn't perfect in this.

    edit: heres another vid

That picture is from Alien Isolation game, not Quake 2.
One of the best and scariest horror games ever, btw.

My bad i missed you wrote it.

Alien Isolation is a really good game, agreed. I was actually pretty surprised by that one... I didn't think it would be that good. I like those types of games though, like the Dead Space series, and the OG's - System Shock.

Beat me to it, in reverse order (piano first, bass second for me).

The only video game I play is Logic Pro. It's quite fun and rewarding. Y'all should try it sometime (any DAW should work).

You can consider it as a kolossal version of a game.
Huge production was involved, original Alien cast (except for Ian Holm), original orchestration, original sketches, and you can see the results: awesome.

Hmmm...I could argue forever, playing a well written game is a valid source of inspiration, as good as reading a book or watching a movie is.
To subtly dismiss electronic games as 'distractions' feels elitist in all the wrong ways—especially considering that some of the most innovative sound design and composition today is happening within those very titles.
Even MoMA in New York recognizes gaming as a unique, multi-disciplinary art form. I do respect the dedication to the craft of music-making, but art requires more than just staring at a grid and mixer 24/7. Without outside inspiration, you risk making 'dull art' for the sake of technical proficiency.
As for Logic being your only "game"...Well...Having used it since the C-Lab and then Emagic days, I can see why. It’s always been a test of patience... I just prefer my entertainment to have a better UI.
    Cheers

I should try this one. These days I find exploration in a no-rush game quite relaxing. Evharisto poli.

I wholeheartedly agree. If I am frustrated while working, a 30-min session would bring me right back to work.

EDIT: I play metroidvanias like Blasphemous and The Last Faith, because they can be played in parts, are replayable and encourage slow methodical play. The atmosphere is big plus, which helps me get my mind of music really fast and efficiently.

I picked up Axiom Verge again, hopefully manage to have the patience to complete it this time. Highly praised Metroidvania, one of my favourite genres - usually.

Had that game on my ps vita, enjoyed it. Blasphemous is another great metroidvania game.
