Extracting and dragging the dll's isn't necessarily the issue, the problem is they aren't patched because the H2O install does that automatically.

 

In that case the thing to do would be to fire up a copy of XP on a test machine, and install the stuff. Then grab the .DLLs and j-bridge them for 64 bit if it is desired for them to run on modern DAW's... I guess if one had the resource of a test machine to run XP on one could simply just install Cubase VST32 and work it from there

 

Installed on Windows 11 and it still works!

For 32-bit plugins, I recommend installing an older 32-bit DAW, such as:

PreSonus - Studio One v2.6.5 Win x83 (Build on Dec 2, 2024)
or
Image Line - FL Studio v11.1.1 - 19.09.2024 - 32 Bit Version

Please note: before installing, create a separate folder for the plugins to avoid conflicts.

Thanks @PulseWave I will experiment with different hosts and maybe adjust folders hopefully i can get it going as the stock ableton slicer in simpler is not great im am aware of most of the modern complex alternatives just love the old-school slicers if I could figure out how to get sugarbytes egoist to revert to init/empty state id be happy
edit:solved figured it out my samples are in a folder within my documents but i had to manualy click through user etc rather than the direct link to documents that is shown straight from c i guess that didnt exist back in 2011
