I just need you to search Hypersonic 2 in Search Everything App, and give me ALL the INSTALLATION PATHS. (Folders)

My fresh installation of Hypersonic 2 crashes just before loading. It leaves a log message that says: Access Violation.

I have experienced the issue before. At the time, I had another machine running Hypersonic 2. I don't remember what made me compare the installation paths of Hypersonic on both computers. I discovered that the machine that was crashing, had 1 less Installation Folder. I added the Folder manually, and the VST started loading. I don't recall adding any files to the folder. Please, Help.


SOLUTION: You will not believe it. Notice that my Post said: "I have experienced the issue before."

After my problem with Hypersonic 2, which no one else seemed to have experienced, I researched the problem, and found a better solution. Then, I proceeded to write a Comprehensive Guideline. Subsequently, I totally forgot that I actually published a GUIDELINE about how to Install Hypersonic 2. Somehow, the first solution stuck in my head. And I forgot about my published Guideline. I followed my own guideline. And it worked flawlessly:

3) Run the plugin and locate content path manually!

But what is your problem? Hypersonic works, what else? If you get many paths in Everything... One folder more, one folder less... It doesn't change anything.

P. S. You can extract .dll and .exe of Hypersonic with UniExtract and place it anywhere you want. You don't need to use installer at all. It works for me well.

P. P. S. If you need a specific file (the standalone of Hypersonic? I cannot imagine why you would need to access other files) then create a symbolic link to it and place somewhere you can access it easily and fast. Also you can give it an unambigous name (hprsnc, h222, hyppp etc.) and search for this link in Everything.

Windows 11 Pro (25H2) (Ryzen 5 5600GT with the built-in Radeon Graphics and 64 GB of RAM, 'cos I don’t play around, baby!)

1. I installed the eLicenser Control Center 6.11.10.2272 (July 2, 2020 version, 63 MB) — that glorious dinosaur that still refuses to die
2. Then I installed Steinberg Hypersonic 2 VSTi AiR (the undisputed king of ancient workstations)
3. I fired up the standalone version (with Asio) and told it where I hid the library folder (everything worked normally!)
4. Dropped in jBridge 1.74 to build a bridge between decades
5. Generated the bridged VSTIs in a folder I personally liberated from all of Windows 11’s security bullshit (UAC, Defender, and all those eternal crybabies ad nauseam).

Opened Reaper 7.61… and voilà, it worked on the first try!

Man, I fucking love these sounds. It’s an important addition to its senile older brother, the Sound Canvas: both are ancient as hell, dated to the core, but for anyone who needs that early 2000s vibe, it’s an absolute must-have!

No discussion: Everything running smooth and beautifully nostalgic!

The Clavs are truly wonderful... as well as the acoustic and electric pianos, brass, guitars, synths, and pads... And let’s talk about size… everything in one pack that, compared to today’s standards, literally fits in your pocket... truly brass in pocket!
Beyond that, the functionality of this workstation is impressive: everything sounds great with minimal programming!
It proves that, far beyond mere nostalgia, even with all today’s advances, this relic still holds a special place in our hearts (whether for its delicious tone or its practicality and versatility).
Hypersonic 2 is so simple and so awesome to use that I had to pinch myself just to come back to 2026!

I know exactly what you mean. It is STILL the first vst i install when getting a new pc!

It loads with lightening quickness. It sounds just as modern as any other VST. Plus, the sound content is impressively wide. I love it.

 

Totally, fast, light, and ridiculously effective, Hypersonic 2 proved that you don’t need to overcomplicate shit to get the job done.

Think about it: a huge chunk of its instruments got swallowed up by HALion/HALion Sonic, which makes the whole story even more ironic. Steinberg basically had a goldmine sitting right there and somehow managed to trip over their own shoelaces instead.

Now imagine if they had actually released a Hypersonic 3 as a proper VST3... I have zero doubt there’d be a massive army of nostalgic producers lining up to throw money at it, all thanks to the glory days, the strong brand name, and that sweet sense of musical continuity.

But nope… Steinberg fumbled the bag harder than a drunk guy trying to catch a football. They could’ve cashed in big time riding the wave of sweet, delicious nostalgia combined with actual quality. Instead, they let a super loyal fanbase slip through their fingers like sand...

Hypersonic wasn’t just another plugin, but a whole damn philosophy: "keep it simple, stupid, and still sound fucking inspiring!"

Steinberg, you had one job...

 

They lost a lot of their sound designers, who went on to other projects. I think there was also a copyright issue if I remember correctly, that prevented them from creating a Hypersonic 3. I cant remember exactly.

 

It won't work if you are using Hypersonic with a dongle emulator (Rebuild SyncoEmu).

But why? Protection that wasn't deleted is always a source of troubles.

There is an excellent crack of Hypersonic without any protection. At all. No protection at all. Completely. It was vanished.

You can find it at the Russian tracker, for example. No, you can't, sorry! I'll post a link a bit later.

You just install the plugin (or copy it if unpacked), copy the content, click "Set HS2 Content Location.exe". Done!

So my suggestion works.

Until the Hypersonic era, Steinberg resisted supporting formats other than VST. From Steinberg's perspective, I can certainly understand that – if you have optimal control over your own format and its further development, why bother with third-party formats that ultimately also support competing sequencers?

However, with the increasing importance of virtual instruments, they eventually yielded to our pressure, and we were able to release Hypersonic in an AU version for the first time.

I can absolutely understand that Logic users were disappointed when they couldn't use popular instruments there. But to be fair, it shouldn't be forgotten that the reason for this was that Emagic – not Steinberg – simply removed VST support from Logic one day, which was a very clear tactical decision against user interests, even if it was strategically explainable.

Peter Gorges:
Of course – Pinnacle certainly turned things upside down there at the beginning. Nevertheless, we still have a good working relationship with Steinberg in Hamburg, and we continue to develop future Steinberg VST instruments.

However, since Wizoo itself has also changed significantly due to Manfred Rürup's departure from Steinberg and the involvement of Hans Zimmer (film composer), other areas are now taking center stage for us.
