This is Reason 14!! Still not in stores, but I think it is a beta testing... So, in terms of old Reason as we know it, yes, I admit, old reason is dead, but new reason, maybe will be born. So, what you think.... ? And maybe some of you have more informations about...

I personnaly discovered music with computer on reason 5, still using it a lot with rack version inside ableton so it's nice to see how Landr decided to fix and bring some basic workflow improvement ! Differents racks for each track! Everything accessible in one view! Finnaly a bit of organization  new reverb is also welcome, rv7000 was nice but didn't get old so well compared to others. I hope we will be able to have it from our favorite team soon:bleh: I was thinking to get a licence of the rack, but it's crasy expensive with extensions, even just few ones from reason (umpf, algorythm, complex1, midi players)

We'll see, people use all kind of cumbersome and weird programs and given the legacy Reason might get it's tiny share of the market. For me personally the only value Reason has it's their plug-ins, something that should've been ported to VST3 format years ago.

GUI looks a bit outdated and messy.

Zero interest in the main DAW, but I do miss some of Reason's devices. I might give the rack plugin a go.

It is in BETA so it is likely not final.
Only based on the supplied images, I can say it looks more like a DAW now and less like the powerful rewire modules and auxilliary sequencer it started as.

still fine with R2R versions. It has all i want.

And i mean its not my main DAW anyway.

I like the small images of the devices on the channel, would love something like that for Ableton.

I'll say this: Reason has WAY better sounds/presets than Bitwig (I have licence for both), but I simply never use Reason for anything. Thought I would ofc but utility wins every time. Bitwig accomplished what Reason originally set out to do but never could: do anything with anything (more or less).

Hoping I can upgrade to 14 for $80 like I did a couple years ago during their Christmas sale, I had 12 but only as subscription so I jumped from 11 Suite to 13 and picked up a couple things alongside the upgrade… also got pretty much all their first party plugins except for some of the player devices, but maybe I’ll be able to pick them off too… but I should be ready for an early upgrade if it comes in July if they have an intro sale. Also can’t wait to hear the new reverb and if they added any other devices

That looks horrific but no doubt you'll be able to configure what particular elements of all of that disaster of a mess you'll want to see on the screen together - and more importantly NOT together - at any given time.

Generally speaking, I definitely strongly prefer the current look. All this squashed, flattened out in a desperate attempt to look more "modern" grey and traffic cone orange in little tabs of various sizes is a real drag to look at.

I don't think completely dispensing with how it looks is going to help them bring in new users, bring back the long time users who moved on, or help them in any way really. More likely will just be off putting to the people who've already been around for a long time who are still hanging in there with it to one degree or the other and the true believer set, etc.

"Cunmbersome" Literally the fastest and most logical DAW there is, it's based on reality for Gods sake.

Reason is most likely one of the biggest missed opportunity in the music industry due to some dumb management.
If only we could get back in time to fix propellerhead's idiocies.

Still have Reason running rewire on a win7 production box, with older Steinberg DAWs.. Works fine for me... I like rewire, always have.

That R14 looks interesting but wont give it a second look because that dev is a money pit. Now if R2R got a hold of it - the FINAL version that is, then no problem. :dunno:
