Hey guys,

I've read on a few threads here about CGPeers and CGPersia either now being dead or by invite only and that even invites can't be given out.

But these posts were from a few years ago, and thought maybe things had changed.

If they have, and if it is possible, if someone could extend an invite, I'd truly appreciate it

I have a CGPeers account and yes, you (still) cannot invite anyone. I have no idea how someone would get into it these days, especially now that they jacked up the security a lot. Even buying an account might be difficult now that they require 2FA.

 

Damn that sucks. What is the reason for them literally welding the door shut?

 

I'm not sure if that's accurate, but I believe the huge amount of malware from inactive accounts from back when they handed these invites played a role on it. If anything, I get it, almost everything with an .exe had a chance to be malware for quite a while.

 

You have to make a request in the official IRC channel. A moderator will have a brief interviews with you. Usually within 12-24 hours... Cgpersia is not working for me right now, but I know the link to the IRC channel is over there somewhere.

 

I used to have account there, but due to constant moving at the time, I lost the account for inactivity..
Really great place though
