Thanks for this, it is original SD1 hardware manual, I have my own VFXsd manual
from 1995 , it states the same, I now how to save a preset in the ENSONIQ, my question pertains to the implementation of automation in the plugin, how to be able to simulate clicking in two buttons simultaneously to save a preset.

once downloaded I formatted it, then I was able to save my presets there.

 

See my post #82. The advantage of my virtual disk is that it’s a high-density floppy disk with 1.44 MB of storage space instead of just 800 KB on github. I’ve saved the standard sounds on this disk. You can copy this ‘disk’, rename it and, of course, format it via the plugin.

Ensoniq SD-1 Installation - Windows

1.) Download the latest:
Ensoniq® SD-1 32-Voice VST3 emulation v0.9.7 beta2
https://github.com/sojusrecords/Ensoniq-SD-1-32-Voice-VST-emulation

2.) UnRar the File and put the " Ensoniq SD-1.vst3" into:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

3.) Make a new Folder withe the Name: EnsoniqSD1 in:
C:\Users\YourName\Documents\EnsoniqSD1

4.) Put the " sd132 " WinRarZip into the new Folder
C:\Users\YourName\Documents\EnsoniqSD1



5.) Open the DAW and scan for new VSTi

Use RapidCRC, OpenHashTab or whatever else floats your boat - as long as it supports SHA256.

 

Thanks for the effort, but I wanted to use the sequencer built into the SD1.

 

As stated in the Github page:
"If you want to run the internal sequencer, you need the original disk image:

• Ensoniq SD1 Sequencer OS v410 (SD-1 800K type)
• How to load: First attach the disk image using "Load Floppy/Cart/SYX". Press Storage, then select DISK. Press LOAD. The display will show the Disk Load page with the File Type selected. Move the data entry slider all the way up to select TYPE=SEQUENCER OS."

Those without AfterTouch can use, Voltage Module combine the free one: Poly Pressure Encoder, Dome Music Technologies with ppg has really nice effect on the Ensoniq SD-1

• We've removed the strict SHA256 ROM verification. Now it's up to MAME to accept your files; we only check for their presence, and it doesn't matter whether they're packaged in a folder or not. If your ROM has been good so far, it will continue to be good.
• At startup, the plugin checks for the presence of sd132.zip; if it doesn’t find it, you can set the exact path using a button issue 10. We also check to see if all 10 files are present, and you can rescan the zip file without reloading the plugin.
• The plugin performs a self-check at every startup, which checks the following: whether it has write permissions to the temp folder and the EnsoniqSD1 folder, checks the Lua plugins, and verifies if the MAME engine failed to start for any reason.
• New machine_state saving mechanism, now fully MAME-independent. The plugin now saves whether a floppy disk or cartridge is attached, along with their paths. You can still open your projects saved with the old version.
• MAME engine is upgraded to version 0.287

howdy

the first time I opened it up on reason 12.5 it was working alright. now it looks mostly black with just the text of the buttons visible, and it doesnt produce sound. happens with 0.9.6-8 versions. Im on windows 10 with the latest vc redist.

any help is appreciated
