Hey, so I’ve had Waves 16 working on Sonoma no problem. After realizing there is no longer vst2 support I tried all sorts of fun stuff installing versions of waves 14 and 11.

Didn’t work, so I erased all traces of waves.
went to reinstall waves 16 and no matter what I do waves central fails immediately when clicking install of waves plug ins.

not sure what else to do at this point.

Make sure to delete the waveshells from the following locations:

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
/Library/Application Suport/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

Then delete the following folder:

/Applications/Waves
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/WPAPI
/Users/Shared/Waves

Now in the hidden library delete this folders:

~Library/Application Support/Waves Central
~Library/Application Support/Waves Audio


There may be something left in cache or preferences within the library but it is not necessary to delete it. So after having cleaned what I mentioned above, the best option to reinstall the version you want is to create an account on the waves page. Log in to waves central with the account, create the offline installer of the version you want, then log out of the account, install offline (in this step it will ask you to select the folder where you downloaded the installers, which by default are downloaded to the desktop). Once the installation is complete, close waves central and run the waves ultimate 2025.3 patch for ARM or Intel if your Mac has an Intel processor.

 

Get a copy of Find Any File app. It's the best option available for what it does. You can uninstall using Waves Central, but if it leaves anything your re-install will not work.
