PVD was signed to a German record label Masterminded For Success (MFS) in the early 90s, as soon as he left the label, they put out an article claiming that "he wasnt even in the room" in regards to the tracks he was supposed to have produced. Whether its true or not, dunno

This is definitely true to some degree, but not the ENTIRE industry. "Superstars" like Tiesto, Guetta and so on, yeah absolutely, but there is a huge scene beneath them. I know this because I know and work with many of these people for years now. Not all dj producers are partying nonstop, I would say its the opposite even. Many still actually do the work. They may have an assistant, sure, someone that tightens things up, mixes, layers and sound design etc, but its a collaborative effort, not just ghost producing. But yah fools like Tiesto, 100%

Ronald Van Gelderen aka Kid Vicious was Tiesto's main producer during his Suburban Train, Flight 643, Traffic period. he's probably had different ones throughout the decades though to keep up with the current trends in dance music. if you listen to the Gouryella refix "Gorella" B-Side on Tsunami you can definitely hear that Tiesto has or had some kind of input in the productions though as there is present themes in those tracks that permeate everything up until his IMO mid remix of Samuel Barber's Adagio For Strings and Ferry definitely had nothing to do with that version as well, but it's also not the one people think of when they think of Gouryella (i doubt many people have heard it as well as it was vinyl only other than a limited CD release in some specific countries)

PVD definitely produces his own stuff. i think he has other people mix it down though, or did in his earlier career. he's spoken about this at length in interviews

 

That's why I switched over from ghostwriting to backstage whoring. I make more an hour than the FOH mixer

 

I surely don't know. What tiny bit I remember auditioning some two years ago was they sounded good. They definitely weren't junk.

Tiesto (sorry, his co-producer Gregory A. Storm van 's-Gravesande), made also a track back in early 90's called T-Scanner - Trip To Heaven, which was pretty nice (still is).
