Ableton R2R - Upgrade Query

    Hi Guys!

    Noob query -

    My first install was Ableton 12 R2R version -

    For Upgrade - (thanks to r4e sir)

    1) I used to download "New update" from - "Link removed! -- Warez rule applies here!! " by changing the version number ex 12.3.6 etc

    2) for install I used to press "replace" button - which was super safe and convenient !

    Now, for Ableton 12.3.6 - for install I can't see any "replace" button - it asks to uninstall and fresh install

    Please guide how to proceed? Maybe im overthinking but I dont want to botch up any process/past files etc (which gets very confusing)

    Note -
    1) My "vcruntime140_1.dll" is already in exception in firewall
    2) Regularly I backup my "Ableton projects" folder to external drive

    hey there, i updated a bit ago to ableton v12.3.2 and as you said it uninstalled the previous version and performed a clean install of the new one. Nothing changed from the crack perspective! you just have to copy the vcruntime dll provided by r2r again in the ableton installation directory and you're good to go! IIRC the only hassle has been to re-generate the licence, but otherwise it is the same.

    Okay, no direct links to Ableton installers, because this is considered Warez! So the Warez Rule of the forum applies

    Currently doing this method as well. In my experience upgrading past 12.3.5, it just "uninstalls and does a clean install" but my settings and stuff before the upgrade are still there after the installation.

    So, basically I can just " uninstall - then reinstall "and everything will remain same right ?

    And does anything need to be done to vcruntime140_1.dll file again ?

    Yea just run the installer, and copy the vcruntime140_1.dll to the folder again after the installation. That's what I'm currently doing.

    Just to confirm exactly -
    Copy the "vcruntime140_1.dll" from "C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 12 Suite\Program" and paste it in the same folder after new installation ?
