Higher Plane Software – SpaceWalk. I'm finding all sorts of ways to use it, not just for ambient. I'm buying this one. Please support the dev. It will be interesting to see how this evolves, although it's pretty damn good right now, and very inexpensive!

 

@bobjeff .. Exactly what are you disagreeing with?
Only 2 statements can be debated.
All the rest is personal experience and can't really be debated, except the one request to support the dev.
So you disagree with:
"very inexpensive"?
or
"pretty good right now"?
or both?
And/or you disagree that anyone should support the developer?

 

It generates some chord progressions, following more or less rules. So what? How is that holy grail? Or is it that you find that a work of genius because chord progressions are a mystic wonder for you? And for what other than generating chord progressions can you use it?

Or did you literally just discover that, yes, music does have some rules, that should maybe be learned? Because it kind of sounds better with some of these rules?

Were you literally playing/drawing random notes on the piano roll until now and thinking to yourself "Damn, why doesn't this sound good? Maybe I'm not using the right plugins! I need more plugins"

and then you found this plugin and...

It's nice to read that someone has found a plugin that makes them happy and content.

The headline is certainly not a clever choice and seems a bit exaggerated.

I love Spacewalk as well! A great plugin. I use it to create my own ambient when im meditating or working on programming or design stuff. Ive also used it for a friends art show. Simple, but great little plugin.

 

Stop being mean, guys. The OP just found a plugin that tackled one of his personal music-making problems (lack of theoretical knowledge), got excited about it, and decided to share. Good for him.

 

My simple little post seems to have disturbed/offended some of you "serious" folks. This is the main reason I boycott social media. By the way, oFcAsHeEp, Orb Chords is now LANDR Composer, just FYI. I did try it and it didn't suit my needs. And yes, DoubleTake I did say "my holy grail", a bit silly I admit. My main interest is ambient, and I found SpaceWalk extremely useful, at the very least a starting point for further musical exploration. If you mess with it enough, it also does some interesting things with drums and orchestral samples and pads, etc. I'm admittedly an amateur musician, guitar mostly, who dabbles in music production. I've taken music theory classes in college, but it was many, many years ago. I'm just getting back into the scene after long bout with arthritis in my hands. Still having trouble playing my guitars, but improving with time. I'm finding my keyboards a bit easier, but I've never been proficient on the piano. My main thrust on the forum is to learn from the members, and to contribute if I can.

 

ignore them! They don't even take the time to educate themselves about the plugin and what it does. Its not a simple chord progression generator like Scaler or something. Its a moving, constantly evolving chord and harmony generator. Its so much fun to just turn it on, tweak a couple things and then just mess about with a bunch of synths and fx being fed midi from Spacewalk. Its meditative. I do it just for fun, i dont even record anything or save the project.

 

Hey will it output MIDI that I could then chop up or arpeggiate?
