There is a saying rather more of a curse that (probably) originates from China: "May you live in interesting times."

Is everyone here that is so upset about the change taking a moment to write to them? Assuming you are a legit owner. if not, do it! It may not seem like it, but they do listen, especially if enough people are speaking their grievances. Be specific and honest, just don't be a jerk.

Stick with your beloved PreSonus Studio One version 7. We live in momentous times of great change. Save what worked and be cautious about what's coming next. Only install what makes you happy and benefits you. Please don't spend all week complaining about Fender.

You're not obligated to use their products. This negativity isn't great and can ruin your day.
Just flush Fender down the toilet and look ahead. By the way, Fender makes fantastic guitars and amplifiers!

Umnn.....yes, SOME, (i.e....a few), companies listen to their user base. Many others either ignore their customers or, basically, tell them to go piss up a rope.
IK Multimedia immediately comes to mind.

BTW.....Fender makes some fantastically overpriced guitars and amps. Yes, their custom shop stuff is good quality but their
lower tier stuff suffers from a severe lack of quality control. Furthermore, they've blurred the line between Squier & Fender.
I've played many a Squier that was better then many Fenders. Gibson has pulled the same BS with Gibson/Epiphone guitars.
And now Fender's corporate masters SeveCo Pacific have ruined Presonus. When the hedge fund bean counters take over, long
time loyal customers are abandoned in favor of shareholder's portfolios.

Everything is made in the Far East these days because the competition also makes good, affordable guitars. Of course, the quality isn't what we had a long time ago. It's always that damn competition and cost pressure. Wage levels are lower in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia...!

Everytime in the past years when the money guys "help" the music guys to create a better business, a clockwork begins to tick.
Firstly they stop making great products instead they only add minor fixes in new versions, secondly they try to implement subscription schemes. Then they begin to fire personnel that has driven success in the past and start to buy other companies in the same business (hello NI and izotope...)
In the end the company has severe problems and starts to die or to be anothe byout candidate:

Reason Studios (former knowns as Propellerheads): https://de.ra.co/news/84368
    Steinberg: https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/113399-92#overview
    Native Instruments: https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/52282-00#overview
    Fender: https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/10865-80#overview

The End of all that sh*t is KI.

That's why everyone loves it when a great company gets sucked up by a formerly great company :like:

Who needs a DAW when we can have Suno and the all new no-effort-music!

    Brave new world

I've ran a bit with the v8 and came to the conclusion that what disappoints me the most is that:

    1) uglifying the UI and all, this version should've been the first of the two promised major yearly updates for the v7.
    2) they never made the effort to make the projects backwards compatible between versions, just for user convenience.
    3) they never put that pesky Replace button under the Remove right-click dropdown menu in the mixer, that Reaper boasts.

You do know that Version 7 pre-Fender had the same type of boot screen and scanning with Studio One on it? You just told me plenty. You can also change all the colors. Why would anyone wish badly on anyone? Corporate or otherwise. You seem to only own the freeloader version. Why don't you tell everyone about the new features that suck too seeing you are such a negative expert on it. You need to have the ability to download some of them which the freeloader version won't.

I am not even a Studio One main DAW person either but I actually own 7 & 8 and prior versions. I do not begrudge anyone their opinion if it is informed. You've already got two major things wrong. I think it was a mistake too with Fender, but I dislike badly inaccurate information.

Let's say it straight to the point, new name is totally uncool and cringe, it's really a motivation killer... and no, I'm not a studio one user.

Fender is a brand well known for guitars not for DAWs, the name: Fender Studio Pro just SUCKs as hell! Be honest to yourself, open a window and scream it to the world!

I just read a press release from last month showing their new Squier lineup of like another 18 Squier guitars lmfao. It was really pathetic. Freaking "Squier"...... another awful sounding name like Fender Studio Pro.

"Why would anyone wish badly on anyone? Corporate or otherwise."

Because there are actually bad and evil people, and bad and evil and greedy corportations + many others in the world that need their much due bad wishes straight from the hearts of the good ole folk. Also its fun and it feels good and its what humans have always done. Dont hate until you actually try it. And not just one time. Try it a at least maybe 3 times maybe 45 then stop take a moment and examine whether you would like to continue in it or not.

"I am not even a Studio One main DAW person either but I actually own 7 & 8 and prior versions."

lol okay.....so you're "not even a Studio One main DAW person" but..... you like it enough to somehow buy every single version and like it enough that you'll read through internet forums taking strict defenses against anybody saying anything negative about it or anything that isnt in line with your opinion, or anyone saying anything that you in your mind believe is not accurate about it..... are you sure you sure that you're not like an avid lifelong user lol? What do you just enjoy paying for every single version and having them on the shelf for show? for what exactly lol? Is it so that you can say things in these types of threads and feel you have credibility? Help me understand

We desperately need better, more competent musicians who understand entrepreneurship.
This "just making money" mentality is going to be the death knell.

I can also imagine a DAW that's created based on user feedback, where we essentially support it through a membership with some cash. I really hope that a team will design a new DAW someday and do everything better. In the long run, everything is going downhill...!

    Unfortunately, yes it's true
As in politics, the same applies here: things have to get much worse before they get better again.
