Here's a new techno track I made today. I'd love to hear your opinions. I don't have a room treatment, so mixing is quite tricky. I'm also working on a second hardcore track.

 

Just a small side note about rapid release. A band like "Deine Lakaien" used to release one LP or one CD-ROM every two years, then tour for two years, and then spend another two years in the studio. But what they got were decent and listenable tracks that were also different from each other!

 

So you dont like it?

 

Look up ´Matador´, he has no treatment in the studio, it just takes a bit of listening on both high and low volume, in the car, on the TV and just being quick, not having 50 mix versions. If it works on a phone, you can go a bit safe on the low end and just keep moving.

2:49, i´m not sure if the lead is fitting, weather it needs a certain freq pulled or a patch/preset just a tiny bit changed up, or even layered with some good strings ..even Nexus2. The first part is fire.

Edit: But also, i might be completely wrong, it does work actually pretty well.

Here's something completely different, this track is far from finished, but I do enjoy producing different styles, and I don't know which style I prefer, I don't even know which category this track falls under.

 

I just listened to it. Much better than the last track, finally the missing bass is there! Did you use your new Oxford plugins? Quite powerful and varied. You've already achieved 75% of a good mix. Tell me, how long have you been making this kind of music?

 

I actually started in 1995 or 96 with fasttracker 2 just to fuck around with nothing special in 1998 bought turntables not making music in 1999 I got fruityloops I made something every now and then but I didn't know much about music it wasn't interesting after that I did nothing for years and in 2007 I bought flstudio which I messed around with a bit but didn't really know much about music after that years I did nothing and in 2023 I started to get more serious about producing but because of those bad tutorials on the internet I actually always did everything wrong then I took a break again until June 2025 and I went my own way and didn't listen to what others say so I taught myself a thing or two and at some point I knew this is good what I'm doing now but sometimes I don't feel like making anything for weeks and sometimes I produce 12 hours a day but often just kick sessions then I just spend half a day making kicks and at the end of The day you have a number of useful and also not useful kicks I taught myself most of it, like DJing I didn't have people in my circle of friends who knew about music so I had to figure everything out myself but what I have the most trouble with is mixing and mastering.

 

Buy two books and immerse yourself in the subject matter.
