I extracted an instrument from a beat using stem separation. What the hell is that? It was definitely played with pitch bend.
To me, it sounds like something between a synth duduk and a violin, but also as if it were layered with a kind of voice... I want this preset.

Could be a Ney flute, (or similar)
played vigorously (as it needs to), and considerably saturated an EQed..

 

Could someone possibly create or recreate a Serum patch or other synth patch with this sound so that I can play it? It's a kind of flute, but somehow also a bit like a violin or even a vocal?

Sounds like an Erhu to me, or really anything in the single-string / monochord class of instruments.

 

I think its just formant shifted vocals

 

the intonation indeed suggest something asian string.

but i think the vocal format is so strong, that this is the main part of the sources.

i only listened at laptop in a noisy room.

everything which can combine 2 sources or models: physical modelling, cross convolution, kymas tau editor, modern morphing plug-ins, eventually even kantos (which only takes amplitude and pitch envelope of source #1), that kind of stuff.

you will probably also have noticed that there is a reverb and a lowpassfilter involved, so it could be made with a custom setup.
