Is there any VST PlugIn for using outboard gear in DAWs?

Does anybody know a VST PlugIn for using outboard gear like tube EQ and compressor within all Audio/Video apps with VST-support?
There is a hardware solution with VST PlugIn and AD/DA box - FreqPort FreqInOut.
But I've already enough Ins and Outs, need only a VST plugin with I/O functionality in order to use it in Vegas Pro - which has no external effects function.
    Maybe there is a solution...?
    Thanks, Peter.

What you’re looking for is a hardware insert plugin that can measure round-trip latency (ping) and apply automatic delay compensation.

I use Logic, and this is done with the stock I/O plugin, which sends a test pulse aka ping through your interface and external hardware, measures the round-trip time, and compensates for it. That lets you run audio through multiple outboard units without manually nudging tracks, except in maybe some extreme cases.

Maybe BlueCat's Connector plugin can do something similar, but I am guessing you want a DAW based solution internal to the DAW. Most external wrapper plugins compensate the latency of plugins loaded inside them, but not the full round trip. I'd be tempted to drop the channels stemmed to Reaper, or some other solution like that. Editing stuff like this manually can cause different problems, and it can be tedious.

In Reaper, the equivalent plugin (JSFX in this case) of what @clone describes is called ReaInsert. It has automatic device latency adjustment, plus manual.

That said, I've only used it for MIDI out / audio in with hw synthesizers so far, and not FX, so not sure how well it works in that regard. Will be getting an ADAT expander down the road here, and then I'll start playing with that side of things and see how it goes.

THANKS for the Blue Cat idea! I've checked the Connector out - but there's only connection to other apps/network, no sound device.
Maybe there's a possibility in combination with the standalone version of patchwork - I'll try it tomorrow...
    Another idea...someone?

Can't you use audio buses in Vegas, route them to your hardware and bring them back in via a mixer channel?

Gig Performer is designed specifically for this.

Yes. But by the time the audio has left the DAW, output from the interface, into hardware rack gear, audio out back into your interface, and then recorded; it can be a good amount of latency/ delay and you end up having to edit every audio region to cut the space off.

    Same issue.

Gig Performer was designed for live performance routing, not sample accurate offline correction of external hardware latency. You are not recording anything back to a DAW, or you are doing it all in the same pass.
