It seems so strange. Fender not only rebranded S1, Every Presonus product is getting a Fender logo. Hope the new Fender CEO is not that insane.

I don't understand why the name matters so much to everyone. Version 8 is awesome.

I didn't say anything about S1's name change. The brand Presonus is silently getting killed here. Even when they scream it's the same team still working. Team Presonus's decision making for their products will be reduced, they are already slave to fender.
Your PFP screams you're into guitars and the new version brings many amps, Off course you'll like the new update more than others.

Yes, I agree... it's absolutely incomprehensible how a name can trigger someone so much... I would still use it even if it was called “Diddys oily party Daw”... I mean, fuck it, as long as it's a good program.

    1. Some are disappointed with the "StudioOne" Name Change.
    2. Some are disappointed because of silent killing of the Brand "Presonus".

Stop merging these two totally different arguments.

For me Fender studio pro works better than Presonus studio one 7. The processor is not that heavy either.
I'll keep it. Projects, sound content, stern separate, new vu meter, mustang, splice, audio to midi-everything runs beautifully.

Obscurity is the natural habitat of software. Most DAWs live quiet, competent lives in the shadows, known only to people already knee deep in MIDI mud and plugin folders that look like archaeological layers. Studio One still floated in that semi famous limbo. Used and abused, but not exactly tattooed on the cultural cortex the way Logic or Ableton or Bitwig or others are. Enter the arena. Enter drama. Drama is the algorithm’s favorite seasoning. It is visibility wearing clown shoes. The moment Fender slapped a new badge on Studio One and yelled "Presonus Studio One is dead, long live Fender Studio Pro!" they did not just rename a product for rebranding purposes, they rang the internet’s dinner bell. Forums ignited. YouTube thumbnails sprouted like mushrooms after radioactive rain. Reddit did what Reddit does best: emotional overproduction with a side of misinformation. Every complaint became a lighthouse, a beacon of hope. Every outrage tweet became a billboard accidentally paid for by the angry. And suddenly, people who had never heard of Studio One started asking, "Wait, what is this thing everyone is mad about?" Curiosity was born not from praise but from supreme noise. Controversy performed the ancient marketing miracle. It forced attention, it turned a niche tool into a trending topic. It converted user resentment into unpaid advertising with terrifying efficiency. The irony was exquisite. Existing users felt betrayed; potential users felt intrigued. Veterans shouted "They ruined it! And they killed Kenny! Bastards!" and newcomers heard "This must be important, even if it probably isn't." The rebrand acted like a flare fired into the sky, not to illuminate loyal customers, but to signal to passing ships that something worth arguing about exists here. Drama is not a bug in modern marketing, it is a growth engine fueled by human psychology and recommendation algorithms that reward emotional turbulence over technical merit. Fender did not just rename software; they cleverly weaponized a burst of profitable visibility. Outrage became onboarding, confusion became discovery, and the eager complaint section became the marketing department. In a rational universe, product sales grow because products are good. In ours, sales grow because "DAW Wars" people cannot stop yelling about them, preferably in all CAPS, preferably while insisting they will never use it again while secretly downloading "the demo" five minutes later, like a scandalized monk sneaking back into the pastry shop after loudly denouncing sugar.

Yea Kate, This is just the latest signal that the daw is not going forward technologically. One can only speculate what Larry Fink will do.
If you ask me he wants to squeeze as much profit out of it as possible. I was in Davos two weeks ago, where incidentally I ran into Barney Rubble who's now my drummer, and Fink was talking about clamping down the daw to 16 bit, without telling anyone. Let's say you could change to 96 bit or whatever and it would always be 16!! He said the unused bits could be used to reinforce i-lok. Can anyone verify this, it might show up in time.

Opting for iLok would be the stupidest decision Fender could make.
They would lose a lot of customers, especially current illegitimate users... who are tomorrow's customers.
Even Steinberg finally abandoned its eLicenser protection, perhaps for this reason...

I mean “Real music” as in actually playing REAL instruments, or playing “real” notes and drum parts via my keyboards - not just dragging n’ dropping loops, and using auto sequence drum machines. Sure, I use Rhodes and Wurli sample libraries, but they facilitate the sounds - my actual playing produces the notes.

hmmm then i must be really enjoy music that feel so unreal :bleh: so out of this world.

Well, not every musician is a great composer, and not all composer necessarily need to be a great instrumentalist. Nearly 30 years in this career and taught me well that important thing in the business is the idea and collective creativity input. Ego can only drive you so far less.

    Sorry for off topic haha

But after few days onboard with Studio Pro 8, i dont feel any of the new upgrade/features wow me, (beside all the new add-on plugin they give for free).. maybe im already used to the old way workflow which always get the job done faster. But i appreciate the new plugin lane, it just i dont found it I necessarily need it, but maybe for who can make useful of it, its a great features to get.

1 thing i do really like with SP8 is now all plugin logistically save more space, no more unwanted boarders which taking up space. But there is also 1 thing that's irritate me.... they change the fader looks and size, i prefer the one in SO7. Simple and size accordingly perfect.

So I decided going back to SO7 for the time being. Maybe over time in future i will try start something new on SP8 and finish.

My overall opinion or complaint only on the looks (GUI).. I still like how SO7 than this new unnecessarily gradient blue color with company logo. I dont want my fav DAW looks like Garageband, lose it all seriousness as prosumer product, but it just me. I only use it when to compose or doing arrangment, most of the time im on Nuendo for mixing and post-production. Beside looks, i still believe SP8 is a great power horse DAW.

Just enjoy it while it last :D
