That aggressive Fender branding is not going to go over well with long-time Studio One users.
They should have kept the 'Studio One' name, and simply added "by Fender".

Yamaha acquired Steinberg/Cubase, but were intelligent enough NOT to rename it 'Yamaha Cubase Studio'.

It won't be. They had a hard release date. I was surprised when I woke up as I was expecting a couple more beta version before release.
I thought it got leaked until I saw sweetwater video.

It's not more crash-y than 7, but theres a lot of little GUI glitches. You will also lose keyboard shortcuts for anything that had a name change.

Fifteen years after AI has taken over and managed everything, large corporations continue to buy up small companies.
Power, as everywhere else, becomes increasingly concentrated. The timeline looked roughly like this:

    Year 1900 = 10,000 companies
    Year 2010 = 5,000 companies
    Year 2026 = 2,500 companies
    Year 2040 = 1000 companies
    Year 2100 = 100 companies

I've decided to put an end to this madness and I'm no longer updating anything, neither the DAW nor Windows 11.
Enough of the shoddy work and the harassment of their own users.

There was Softube, who had a good product, but then problems arose because Windows kept producing errors:

The problem is recurring OpenGL renderer issues, which Softube only partially
addressed and which are repeatedly caused by Windows updates.

So Softube worked hard, solved the problem, and weeks later, after a Windows update, the OpenGL problem was back!

After seeing the videos and everything, this is really the first time I don't feel like upgrading this DAW since the v3 release, when I moved from reaper to studio one. The bulk of the update are their native plugins, which I don't use, and the new overview functions don't really seem any faster than what I'm already used to.

I have an unused Studio One 7 Artist key from just a week ago, I'm going to wait until they get rid of that version and see if it unlocks the new one with a free Pro upgrade (doesn't seem like there's an Artist version anymore?).

I would be fine moving back to reaper if I didn't use the Presonus faderport, it supports other daws, but the real experience is in its native ecosystem.

this has cheapened the S1 brand imo

Imagine Ableton would be bought by Avid and they simply call Live now Avid Live 13!

sorry for all the memes, but this topic deserves them ...
    what a meme renaming.

@S1 users, will you now buy more gear from Fender, when your DAW is renamed Fender Pro 8?

It's not going over well with THIS longtime PRESONUS Studio One user. I used to work for Presonus. Been using Studio One from
day one. I was even involved with it's ancestor Kristal Audio Engine. The bean counters at Servco Pacific who own both Fender
and Presonus can kiss my rosy red rectal orafice. I'm done. I'll continue to use PRESONUS Studio One V6.4 for the time being
but it's time to find another DAW that's worthy of my trust. As was mentioned above Yamaha has been a far more responsible
shepherd of the Steinberg brand and Cubase. I was a long time Cubase/Nuendo user before I became involved with Presonus.
Maybe it's time to revisit Cubendo land. Back in the day Presonus and its users were almost like an extended family. Now it's
    just another corporate money suckhole.

The writing's been on the wall for some time. I knew when they shut down the official company Presonus forums it was going
    south.

I don't get Fender's need to slap their own name on the product. Presonus and the Studio One name already have a userbase and people don't like arbitrary change for change's sake. They will certainly piss off a lot of users with this move. Fender is already seen as a conglomerate that buys up smaller brands then does everything they can to completely demolish what made the brand stand out in the first place.

Just stick a PreSonus - Studio One sticker over the Fender product at home.

Just updated mine, so far it's great as always. They fixed a lot of little things that I'm actually happy about. Even though it's a separate installation, I had no problems swapping over and continuing where I left off. Will post if I find anything weird. Not a fan of the huge Fender logo trying to be all in the shot...I AM ok with just calling it Studio Pro though

A copy of a light version of Fender Studio Pro should be bundled with every guitar or amp they sell.

Why should only Apple, audio interface manufacturers, or VSTi publishers benefit from this shoe horn marketing avenue? It's the second thing I'd have done after rebranding the product.
