As i get older i find myself listening to less and less of other people's music. Partly because there isnt alot of new stuff that comes out that I really enjoy, partly because I'm always working on my music, and part of that is also because I dont like to be influenced by what I hear most times. Like if I'm in a slump or on a break creatively I might jam out but usually i have several different creative projects goin on in my head or on paper so to speak and looking back i can always tell what i was listening to when i recorded this or that. As i get older I want to hear myself in my work not others.
Maybe its Ego, maybe its the longing to be original idk.

I actually bought a nice electric-acoustic guitar on a music store closing sale almost 3 years ago and have yet to learn it. 2026, might as well start. I would like to learn the finger-style or whatever it's called. I suspect that's what the guy in PulseWave's video is doing.
Anyway, nice work, you might make a fan out of me if I don't end up listening to more of my own music, myself. I still need a wire for from the guitar to my laptop and then a good microphone. By the sound of it, you might need one too.

Try to pick up the guitar for 30 minutes every day and practice a little. All beginnings are difficult. But after just a few weeks or months, you'll know a few chords, and your finger muscles will be trained. Why not make it a new experience, going from digital life back to analog life?

 

lol no I have recording equipment and all the best software> One of my hobbies is to take my guitar and wander around town finding spots with great natural acoustics. so it happened to be on a not great phone and a $100 Baby yamaha.

Totally agree and thanks for the video-- you read my mind. (Does he do the finger method?)

I would also like to learn how to tune it, too, and first, and so might need a tuning fork. I know there are digital tuners, but I might like to do old school, unless there is an even older tuning-forkless method I'm unaware? (I guess one can tune off another existing instrument or even relative to a selected string on the actual guitar, although that method may not be in tune with other instruments and, say, 440 HZ or whatever.)

Do you play anything acoustic, yourself? If so, what?

I think you have an edge where it comes to acoustic/reverb treatments, such as in that 'choir'. Your mentioned hobby seems to inspire some very effective results. Drums are great/dramatic.

My only critique-- and it's just me as if I owned the song, which I don't ;) -- is I'd somehow want to change the acoustic guitar sequence that is heard throughout the song to somehow make it less repetitive, cloying and more interesting. Maybe offer a counter-sequence, maybe that somehow juxtaposes it or play with it by shifting the key and/or replacing and/or dropping (deleting) some notes periodically and/or toward the end and/or as the song progresses, as if by 'happy accident', what do you think? Maybe throw the sequence in reverse sometimes, or periodically throw it in different sonic environments, such if you'd rather keep the sequence intact, or whatever.
In any case, I'm envious.

A Gibson steel-string guitar with a built-in pickup, amplifier, and effects unit. I've been playing since I was 17 and I also played electric guitar for a while. Back then, I learned guitar with a beginner's book. After learning 30 chords, I developed my own style over the years.

Buy both. Korg makes good tuners and a 440 Hz tuning fork, which is A. The strings are tuned from darkest to brightest, starting with E, then A, D, G, B, and finally E. You don't always hear things perfectly, so a battery-powered tuner is a huge help.

You just have to start. Friction the strings cleanly behind the frets; it will come naturally over time. Don't overthink it, just do it. Consistency—30 minutes every day—leads to success.

I know you're very preoccupied with the possibilities and alternatives of thinking and making music. Playing guitar yourself can really help you relax and be creative, which exercises other areas of the brain. Good luck !!!
