You can't get out of Performance mode. The JP is always in Performance mode.

 

Correct. The best way to browse individual patches is to pick a performance/patch, then click on 'single' key mode, and then either select individually from the browser, or use the increment/decrement buttons.To better understand how patches and performances work on the JP8K, you can view p.48 of the original manual.

I have both firmware for JP8000/8080, but it doesn’t seem to accept the 8080 binary since it gives an error but the interface has an extra button with the features of that model only accessible via that firmware and the one that works is the 8000 which removes the voice modulation tab, I’m not asking for any firmware but I’m wondering if maybe this plugin needs some more updates so we can use it like the actual hardware it’s based on and use the vocoder…

Getting the ARP to function:
Your midi channel needs to be set to channel 3 in your DAW
If split mode is active the arp will only works for the lower layer
Linking the filters on both layers
Make sure both layers are selected by double clicking the layer buttons till both are lit
Getting both layers to play from a single midi
Set your midi to channel 3 OR you can just set the MIDI channel of both layers to 1

faithless used jp 8000 for that lead sound in the 90s.. now such patch can be recreated with SPIRE vst but you can even see the roland jp in the video

 

I can't get the 8080 fw to work either, apparently it only works in 8000 mode for now. Every YT video has it in Keyboard mode whether it's the public beta or the pre-release private one.

It’s still great in JP8000 mode, but I’ll have to wait for an update and I might return to the Arturia version since it’s been a while

 

It´s not implemented yet, check the discord for further information, it´s all documented there
