Good day to you all. Hopefully you're all recovering from the recent holiday celebrations.

A bit of background, firstly.

The last time I installed anything from Waves was Version 10. I now have a new PC using Win10 (I Know, but I'm only moving away from 7 because a lot of the software I wish to try is no longer functional)

I have tried several times to install Waves Ultimate 16 v25.11.28 from VR. Only this is one time I am hopelessly going around in circles pressing everything as the instructions I have, seem to be very vague.


Is there any kind soul out there who wouldn't mind putting together a walkthrough, so dummies like me will be able to follow it?

I have selected offline, and I can see the plugins, only when I go to install them. It gets to 0.2% and promptly gives up.

I must be doing something wrong. I just have no clue as to what!

I can give you a few tips from when I installed the last waves from V.R.. First off the "package of stuff" that came with the particular release seemed to be useless with the waves central installer. I could NOT get waves central to recognize it as an offline install package. If it was corrupted it came that way from V.R. as there were no errors with the archiver or the download. I had to DL the official "offline waves package" from waves site itself with an internet machine, move it over to the production box, and then run the waves central installer using the "offline" method of installation. With waves central though I have never been able to "point and shoot" just the stuff I wanted to be installed - regardless of whatever choices I made with waves central the stupid thing would always end up installing the entire mess to the system. Then I have to go back in later and nuke off what shouldn't have been installed in the first place. Also make certain you're running waves central as "admin". In my case as well, any of the waves junk that needed an internet connection to function was useless as none of my production boxes are connected to the net.

I think I'll go do the same thing.

 

One other thing - folders and/or files being pointed at with waves central for the "offline install" are very crucial. It's been a while but I seem to recall some issues with pointing waves central at either the folder containing the offline package or the the package itself. Also the package archive needs to remain intact or it will never work.

 

Something you said MIGHT have just worked.. I did it again, only I unchecked the E live mixer console thingy (also Waves Central as Admin... and it is installing.. I'm going to retrace all the steps and IF it works I'll post an entire walk-through.straight after.. Thanks again.. I think you may have cracked it.. fingers crossed.

 

That suits me down to the ground because I would have uninstalled them anyway.

I have tried to retrace my steps but, the only way I'm going to be able to make sure I get every step bang on, is to put the system into Sandbox Mode and then uninstall/ reinstall it. and see if I can get it working again.. If I cant, I wont lose anything..
