I am trying to figure out a way to take a VSTi Mixer channel in Studio One and duplicate it WIHOUT having to duplicate the actual instrument or FX instance. Primarily so I can take the VSTi output sound and send it to 3 S1 mixer channels. I would think I could just create 3 BUS tracks from the VSTi mixer channel, but S1 will not allow me to make more than one BUS track for any given mixer channel.

I hope I have explained this clearly enough. Basically, I am tring to make crossover points. Turn the VSTi output into 3 seperate channels, Hi, Mid and Low. It is probably much much easier to do than I am thinking. But the important part is, I need the VSTi audio After the channel VST FX, so routing it directly out of the VSTi into other mixer channels will not work, since it will bypass the FX I have on the channel.

    Anyone know? Thanks for reading!

You can create a 3 sends for 3 busses on the send section of the track with your vsti. Set the send to 0 db and click on the pre-fader button.
Now you have the same signal on the three busses and you can place your track's fader to zero if you don't want the dry signal.

Send the audio signal per "send" to any audio channel you have created.. In your case .. 3 sends from your vsti channel. each send routed to another audio channel of your choice.

    peace

I think N12 means buses, not audio tracks. But yes, from the vsti channel add send and select add bus, or even add fx, do it as many times as needed. If you want audio only to be heard from the buses and not from the original channel, turn the channel volume all the way down and put sends in prefader mode

@Don Questo: Unfortunately, you can not send a channel to more than one BUS. That is the first thing I thought of, and its how I used to do it in Cubase I though. However, if you send the Audio to BUS 1, then try to send it to BUS 2 as well, it removed it from BUS 1. At least, I couldnt figure out how to do it, if its possible.

N12n0: Hah, I did not even think I could do an Aux Send to a different mixer channel. Thought it had to be an FX channel. However, as you mentioned, I suppose creating 3 AUX sends to 3 different FX channels, would work if I set the original VSTi channel to pre-fader AUX send (So I can mute the volume of the Original VSTi output channel without it effecting the volumes of the 3 sends) Thanks for the help! Now I just hope I can BUS 3 FX channels together. Will try this when I get home.

    thanks, Man.
i wanted to do something similar, didn't think about the sends..
now i can separate a file and eq/filter/etc each band -low-mid-high, apply different delays, reverbs, etc. cool.

Using "pre-fader" option, and muting/gain 0dB your VSTi channel, you will get only sound coming from sends and VSTi fader will have no effect on their levels.

this. Sorry for my bad explanation. i am no native english speaker so my explanation lacks a bit everytime :)

Anyway, way i meant in the foundational way is.. think analog . every channel can be what you ment it to be. it´s only a question of routing and treatment. an audio channel can be a fx channel too if you made him one. it´s cool that all that great daws outside deliever presets for mixing decisions but you can also do it another way.. it´s important not to see it as limitation or ending point. i hope that explains myself better...

    so long..

As I still use the cracked version, I dont think its fair for me to ask for help in their forum, I will let them use their resources for paying customers. Although I do read it. But thank you for the heads up.

Thanks again everyone. The send FX trick worked. I hate when I cannot do something that I need to do. It completely halts my workflow all OCD like.

AH! I dont know how I didnt see your response! This worked perfectly. Much better aesthetically too, as I didnt like having audio tracks on FX channels. This was perfect, thank you so much for using your first post to this forum to answer my question, filipeadubeiro. I feel dumb for not thinking of just using the "Create Bus" command instead of the "Create BUS for this track" command.
