The Court of Rome has issued a nation-wide block of two dozen sites that facilitated the distribution of pirated movies. Among the blocked domains is Kim Dotcom's cloud hosting service Mega, Firedrive (formerly known as Putlocker), and even Russia's largest email provider Mail.ru.

    WOW! :wow:

Really nice to see the Italian owners looking after their peasants so well. Imagine if one of those naughty members of the public actually used those sites and STOLE stuff! Unthinkable.

The owners of the people are doing a perfectly good job of robbing everything and anything without the peasants getting in on the act too thank you very much!

These measures always make me laugh, all they do is block URLs, it takes literally 10sec to find a mirror and keep on using the site. Most people who download stuff from these websites are obviously computer savy enough to figure that out. In the end I doubt these measures have one shred of an effect on piracy, all it does is just piss people off...

Is right Guitarmaniac64, they have blocked us here in the UK from quite a few sites.

Makes sense to have your "options" in place in case you wake up one morning and discover your country has also joined the embargo on freedom! *yes*

Gets me what I need when I need it. To each his/her own, eh mate? Isn`t that what freedom is all about???

Use what you want, I'm just trying to give you the truth of the matter so you can make a more informed decision and that is that free VPNs are nowhere near as safe as some of the pay services. It stands to reason that a free VPN that is not getting your money has no incentive to protect you efficiently, even many pay VPNs don't and that's why it was necessary for TorrentFreak to write an article about those pay services that actually do take your anonymity seriously. Many don't even openly state whether they keep logs or not.
