The topic is simple.

Why would we want to get the Full versions instead of Standard versions?

It is obvious that the Full versions have different mic positions,

But what are the exact benefits of them? Are they necessary to achieve orchestral realism, Hollywood width a.k.a Hans Zimmer–like depth?

 

They have glissandos riffs all kinds of stuff

 

Pretty much. The stage they're recorded at is used for recording AAA soundtracks so the more mics the better the replication of the room will be.

 

I think you get all the articulations regardless of the version, the difference is the number of microphones.

 

It's not just the number of mic positions, sometimes the Full version simply offers a better mic option (for close/mid). For example, the Fazioli F308 close mics in the Standard version are pretty underwhelming, you absolutely need the ribbon mic which only comes with Full.
