These cars can be driven by 16-year-olds In Germany, an exciting opportunity opens up for 16-year-olds: driving a car or light vehicle with a top speed of up to 45 km/h. Cars for 16-year-olds offer mobility and independence. But which vehicles are suitable and what regulations must be observed? All the information is here. AM and A1 Driving Licenses The AM driving license is a Class M license that allows the holder to drive certain vehicles that do not exceed a maximum speed of 45 km/h. It costs approximately €600 to €900. To obtain it, you must be at least 15 years old and pass both a theoretical and a practical exam. The Opel Rocks-e (combined power consumption: 11.9 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km)², with a new price of around €8,000, is both a very affordable microcar and an electric car for 16-year-olds with a long range. While it lacks comfort features and doesn't have a trunk, it can travel distances of up to 70 kilometers, making it particularly useful in city traffic. Only an AM license is required to drive it. Its top speed is 45 km/h, and it can be fully charged in four hours using a standard household outlet. In addition to the standard version, there's a Tekno variant with special wheel covers, side decals, and a smartphone holder. A Club version is also available, differing only in its color options.
can you not just get a low level motorbike instead? bcs this car well, other 16 years old will laugh at you.
The color is also a joke; this one seems promising, especially at that price – completely electric, zero emissions! @PulseWave not about the color, but with that car you are not impressing your friends at the age of 16 and as a shagging vehicle it doesnt work either.
What are you supposed to do when you're 16, don't earn your own money, have a poster of a Porsche 911 on your bedroom wall, and this piece of junk is all you get from A to B?
Looks like some shifty eyed mutherfukker to me...and I don't trust him...not one bit! Last edited: Dec 5, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Found out that these kind of vehicles are forbidden in Europe. Too unsafe! Makes sense, I mean you are literally sitting in a cola tin.
No, it's not a glamorous sports car, but for a 16 year old it's great; it gets you to illegal parties just fine, which is all that matters. Not that I'm placing any trust in youth, but let's hope this generation is smarter than driving on drink and drugs.
Being that ugly, that slow, and that much of a tin-can on wheels. It's basically an accident waiting to happen. And with a top speed of 45 km/h, every single person on the road is going to hate you. People drive faster than that even in the city centre.
The very existence of that abomination is a catastrophic accident. I can't unsee that shit and my eyes are bleeding. Thanks?
