All I have seen or listened to have just been synth presets for one or two synths. Are the "spam" ones freebies? The recent dump of them this weekend are the only ones I see which have been on sister site or on torrent tracker. They wouldn't get archived if they were not "Releases" shared by someone. They are also the only ones for sale on the site listed on the AZ posts as homepage.

They are all for individual products, also. So maybe some will be useful, some not; but at least there is decent reason for them to be so many individual uploads (organized per plugin or synth). These Olly James packs are all samples that would probably amount to 2 regular Loopmasters sized sample packs. The sheer number of individual uploads is what makes them spam, even if they were any good to start with. There's not much reason to make 50 separate packs unless you knew they would get ripped and uploaded. Ala New Beard Media...

 

Don't know didn’t look into everything, but what I did notice was advertising for commercial patch packs, which I call spam.

Sorry. I meant as in I haven't followed his recent work since I don't like psytrance or techno. I much perfer his bigroom, electro and progressive house stuff that I don't think he does anymore? Maybe I'm wrong. My point was that I'm not upto date with his music. And to come back to my original point. What has he done wrong? It's not his fault the sister site is flooded with his sample packs. If u actually pay for his patron I'd say it's a great value and he should applauded. Especially since u seem to forget that the whole purpose of some of this packs are they provide remix starting points which is the number one way to edm producers to get noticed in 2025. And I'm sorry the whole "how many samples/Plugins u need" is a laughable statement. If that's the case the sister site would only have fifty packs covering fifty genres and nineteen Plugins covering all mixing, mastering criterias. If there's no demand for his stuff in sister site I'm sure there wouldn't be any uploads since it would be a waste of bandwidth to upload them.

AI-junk / Olly James-style sample pack spotting cheat sheet” — optimized for quick Patreon browsing. You can run through this in your head in 10–15 seconds per pack:

• 10+ packs per month, or 50+ total in a short time.
  
  
• Packs released back-to-back with little or no gap.
  
  
• Mental shortcut: “If they could never have crafted all this themselves, it’s probably AI/template.”

2. Generic, boring sounds

• Four-on-the-floor kicks, basic claps, uninspired pads.
  
  
• No unique character or signature sounds. " But they are signature sounds!"
  
  
• Shortcut: Listen to 2–3 random loops; if they feel like filler, skip.

3. Repetitive loop structure

• All loops are 1–2 bars, perfectly quantized, identical rhythm.
  
  
• No fills, breaks, or human feel.
  
  
• Shortcut: Zoom waveform in DAW preview; uniform waveform = probable AI junk.

4. File naming

• Shortcut: Check file names in preview — generic = red flag.

5. AI-style artifacts

• Metallic, brittle, hollow, or slightly glitchy sounds.

• Shortcut: If one loop clicks/feels “off” on first listen, assume the rest is similar.

6. Overstuffed content

• 500+ files per pack, many of which are very similar.
  
  
• Shortcut: Huge quantity = quantity over quality mindset.

7. Marketing cues

• Hype phrases like “50+ packs of unique sounds!” or “everything you’ll ever need.”
  
  
• Lots of generic testimonials, minimal demo depth.
  
  
• Shortcut: Hyperbole = probably low effort.

8. Visual cues on Patreon page

• Screenshots of DAW arrangement/loops look generic or stock.
  
  
• Minimal visual branding or aesthetic.

9. No demos or only short loop snippets

• No fully produced track demos using the pack.
  
  
• Shortcut: Pack sounds weak in demo = weak in real use.

10. Price vs effort

• Low Patreon price for massive output usually indicates automation/AI use.
  
  
• Shortcut: If it looks too cheap for 50+ packs, it’s probably AI-generated filler.

Quick rule of thumb:
If 3–4 of these signs are present, the pack is almost certainly AI/template junk and not worth downloading or paying for.

 

Taste and judgement. The two things that you really cannot take a shortcut to .. and also the things that enable you to see the quality stuff from the bullshit. Not a coincidence. If you do the time, hone the skills and if after all that long haul, still are passionate about it then .. okay.. you're in with a chance.

So what we have is a culture of 'producers' who encourage new 'producers' with promises of fame and riches. An old story for sure. So those without taste and judgement form a layer above the new batch of people with no taste or judgement. And so a hierarchy is formed. This seems legit at a glance because you have 'veterans' and 'mid levels' and 'newbies' all within this bullshit sphere. It's the blind leading the blind. And the only real winners in all of that are the awful ones who understand the whole sphere of bullshit and milk it like a cow. Shame on them.

My advice, for what it's worth : Go learn by doing. Tune out the sea of advice and falsehoods. And don't bother if you're not passionate about it. The world has too many 'producers' and it's bullshit.. it's a figment of a weird culture of dreamers and those that would enslave them. And all too many are young and spend far too many years sucking in this dark nonsense.

As a side note, using this fine userscript helps for removing content that's annoying: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/509326-audioz-utils , just be aware that the filtering is case sensitive, e.g. it's "Olly" not "olly" if you want results.

Makes browsing the sister site better, especially when there's a lot of stuff posted that's just not for me.
