Was thinking exactly the same thing about this "Andi Vax" moniker the other day. What the fuck is an "Andi Vax" and why the hell should I care what presets/samples it uses? Personally I think all these "names" thrown around are just tactics used by marketing morons to try and sell more redundant "presets" and sample packs. And even if not, I could care less what presets/samples they use. I never use the stuff but a good 90-95% of the junk released to the scene is comprised of this stuff.

I understand about the name, it's a hard one to come by, you try this and that but if you're lucky one will hit, but I don't think anyone or anything had ever get to Vol. 45. It's simple in the sample pack business (I think), the first one blew up, you come up with Vol. 2 then you get greedy and release Vol. 3 or 4 or 5 until nobody cares until you think it's time to reset and come back with another series. 45 volumes of your signature sounds ? That's like not having a signature sound at all isn't it.

Sample and patch pushers want their slice of fame before they’ve even figured out what their signature sound is
They are even selling patchets for EQs

So 90% (felt) of all sample packs are complete and utter garbage. Me thinks that someone takes some sounds, fiddles mindlessly a l little bit with them, repacks the sh1t and tries to sell it. Lots of these sound as if this is done with batching whole libraries through Ozone or similar. Rename them and done. Characterless stale sounds, but sorted. BS. If you listen to packs with e.g. Venus Theory as the name on it, you hear the difference immediately to these batched and botched libraries. (Not my cup of tea, at least these sounds are genuine.)

Result is: I listen to a demo, find 1% interesting. No demo -> trash. The last incoming in the field of BS are the packs/VSTs from Studio Trap. Sounds like they have reworked some 2010 mediocre hiphop libraries with 12k samplerate ... I am not a trap guy, but this is real bullsh1t. It's simply primitive and bad. All in all I am less and less interested in sample libraries. Some days ago I have used Hypersonic 2 and was absolutely baffeled what sounds are in there. blows nearly all of "modern" libraries out of the water. Ah, one more thing: if something is labeled "granular" or "grain" I am out ... who invented that idiocy? Sound like a broken toilet ... and smells like it.

    /end of rant
