None of it was ever stored on a narrowboat. 100% sure fire way to get it all wrecked. Some of it's been in an attic. Other bits in a box room. It's changed over time. I was worried about the 'look at me' vibe. It looked like showing off, but in my need for potentially accurate, gear specific information I decided to just go with it and live with any comments like yours. Just goes to show how useless AI is, because every word of it is true, however unlikely that may seem. "Vintage, rare, and collectible gear" may apply now but not necessarily when I bought it. For example I paid approx. £1600 for one JP8000 when they first came out and £350 for the other one, don't remember when. I didn't even describe all of it. Just the stuff I thought might have a failure probability.

Trouble with that, which I will save, is I'd end up trying to fix everything before I start. I was after others actual real world experience. Especially on the cones in speakers... anyone got any experience of that. They look OK.

Why not? The AI is much nicer about it than I would be. The only thing to even add if anyone wants to play along with this phish story is a couple of synths will need some coin batteries or they will not save presets in RAM. But the reason the "OP" doesn't want to hear from an AI is because they are a great BS detector.

They will screw you up about hardware though, that is at least true. I trusted the output of one and it had me completely disassemble my tower Mac to install a Fenvi wifi/bluetooth card mod using a power lead on the logic board that does not even exist. They handle conflicting information very well after the fact. "oh, you meant..xyz, well of course it doesn't have one!". They have less shame than people.[/QUOTE]

I'll attach a photo, but it will only show a pile of boxes. I'm not going to start opening stuff just to prove something to you doubting Thomas's. One thing we've learnt, AI destroys discernment and intuition. The two big boxes are Jasper Stands and the JP's and stuff are underneath. Some stuff is elsewhere at the moment.

I like the hardware, hands on. I only do it for me. Mixing and matching sounds in real time. I want the knobs there in front of me. I can play keyboards to a limited degree. I'm a conspiracy buff online. Takes all my time just doing that on the computer. One of the reasons I'm asking is I am possibly in a position to actually start doing something with it. Just got the karma out and that's working fine, which is very encouraging. And it is awesomely shiny and new looking LOL.

it feels like R2R blackfriday but in hardware
How did you manage to wait so long without unpaking all this stuff?

When you plug something in, stay alert and keep your hand on the plug so you can unplug it quickly if anything seems wrong.

If it was a attic stocked with Juno's and Moogs it would be another story but (as had been shown in the picture already) OP noted just quite regular gear, all in all a very nice collection though. The exact same thing happened to me as well, i had to stock up my whole studio (with quite similar gear as OP) due to life circumstances. Glad to have all sitting working in a room again.

Since your hardware/instruments, etc., are in their original packaging, this is what dealers typically have in stock. The issue is the storage time. Some batteries will be dead; replace them. Check the manual for your specific synthesizer to see which battery is required.

When you unpack an instrument, let it sit for a day until the moisture has evaporated to prevent a short circuit.

Turn up the heat. When you plug in the instrument, wait an hour so the heat softens the lubricants.
Some lubricants harden over time due to a chemical process. Then, start pressing each key and knob 15 times in a row.

Regarding the speakers, unpack them and connect them. Since they are in their original packaging, they are unlikely to be damaged. Because if no oxygen got to them, there will be no chemical reaction that could decompose the diaphragm.

Believe what you want. Synths are one thing, I know. I have about 20 myself and I have seen collectors who have entire rooms so jammed together you can't see an inch of wall or floor. If there was a good way to put them on the ceiling, they would probably do that too. But when someone says they use none of it, and also the addition of multiple analog mixers; I gotta say either it's BS or someone is just buying whatever they see. There is no reason to have 4 or 5 console mixers. It's completely impractical when you can just buy some nice patchbays.

The problem with this story now, with the pictures? Those photos are from 2006. First one I checked was originally downloaded from here: http:/ / i.pbase.com/ o5/ 99/ 711799/ 1/ 69667671.egLsAwK4.Staroselciweb64_6625.jpg

    https://audiosex.pro/attachments/img_1480-jpg.60809/. Why, not working right?

Other site shows different data. lol. On the bright side, there is the tv remote you had been looking for.

The picture date may be ok then, but still remain a skeptic of any sort of post like this. And as he said, hte picture is of boxes, and only 3 or 4 that are identifiable as music related.

Yeah I tried another site and got 2025 date in the data too. So we have a picture and boxes. What can you identify as music related? I see there is a Moog box. A Boss box, an SPL box, decksaver box, tourtech carrying bag for whatever. Korg MS2K, waldorf Pulse 2, one that might be a condenser mic, And a box from Musicstore.de.

The saddest part of the story is asking AI for help.

No, it's the fact that this thread got derailed and now we ended up discussing if OP is either a bot or a troll because AI stated it was highly unlikely to own all this hardware.

No front though because we are now living in dead internet times, where the chance that users are no real human beans are quite likely and trolls have existed ever since. Even though I wonder what a troll might get from inventing such a story - I mean I don't see a possible punchline. Maybe throwing a stale piece of meat in a thread is enough these days?

    @Grok is this true? :rofl:

Please do so - I'd also like the latest obituaries for every single artist passed away in the past 3 months!

What does a troll ever get out of it? Can you see someone who owns a bunch of musical equipment, kept in boxes; not knowing the only thing that will be needed is a few coin batteries, and maybe a can of compressed air at the outer limits? What would the punchline be for that then?
"New Old Stock" kept in boxes with the styofoam inserts are the same as the day they left the warehouse. They aren't 100% airtight, but pretty damn close.

The OP even knew it would be met with skepticism, otherwise he would not say in the first post, "i'm not trying to sell anything".
