Hi i have successfully installed omni 3 with extenstions, trillian, keyscape, only bob moog dont work, so skip that one.

Instructions:

DOWNLOAD Guiseppe version and the STEAM folder in that thread at another web page.
If you dont know which i would assume it's ok to reveal the site in a PM.

Also these instructions might work with the upload here on AudioZ

DELETE everything about omnisphere VST2-3, AU, APP
~/Library/Preferences <- omnisphere.settings and net.spectrasonics.v9.plist

Save your own library and patches you made, which is in user folder. Or save everything but you need to delete everything and do a fresh install, old patches will work later.

Steps:
Move STEAM folder with Omnisphere in it only. to ~/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/

open terminal: sudo chmod -R 777 one space after 777. Drag STEAM folder after it has been put in the right folder above. Then run the command.

Also make sure all omnisphere folders are read and writeable, this is what the command does.

Then you install Omnisphere 3 with in my case guiseppe version, SAVE instructions and go offline
Codesign one at a time the VST3, AU, APP with one space after each command, drag and drop
sudo xattr -cr
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine
sudo codesign --force --sign -

Now you can run the keygen and open Omnisphere APP or in DAW ( be offline ) click the offline activation code and use the challange code that is after ch=

You open the R2R.exe with in my case lastest Crossover for Mac 25.0.1 Windows 10 64 bit bottle.
You can open with other stuff but i did this,

Challangecode example:

ch=SqbxHwLEPq34DV2chkAPrUqTx%3F%259 <- USE AFTER ch= so correct code is SqbxHwLEPq34DV2chkAPrUqTx%3F%259

Then activate omnisphere with right steam folder in place and you should already have done the sudo chmod -R 777 command.

now it should be activated and working, INSTANTLY go to ( remember to be offline and save these instructions )

~/Library/Preferences and find

net.spectrasonics.V9.plist and right click lock the file, deny read and write, or just write. But you can lock it also.

Open omnisphere make sure it finds the library it should, or you did smth wrong.
Give full disk access to Omnisphere.app and used DAW's in settings / integrity

To ensure patch saving when reloading projects.

Now it should be up and running, now you can re install or move sonic extenstions, trillian library, keyscape etc.

I moved the STEAM folder to external drive opend DAW and it asked for folder, and made the link automatically, but i had patch saving issues, so i use the original folder, with no problems atm.

I had a problem with patches from trillian not saving, so i downloaded the latest patch update for trillian which is rather old but works fine now.

I think this is pretty much everything. Comment if you have issues, but read carefully and do exactly as instructed.

Here's a tip for anyone who previously installed a different version of Omni 3 and then encountered problems with Bob Moog or the FX and other libraries (Keyscape/Trillian) when installing Spectrasonics Omnisphere v3.0.0d macOS - V.R rev 1.



I had the Bob Moog problem, for example.

So I set out to take a closer look at where the Omni 3 installation had left its traces.



It is important and necessary to completely clean your system of Omni 3 before installing Spectrasonics Omnisphere v3.0.0d macOS - V.R rev 1.

Here are the paths you should look at.



Since I have the library on an external hard drive, I set a symbolic link in /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics.



This path must also be deleted.



I would remove the app with Appcleaner, as it also deletes the installation log file. I had forgotten this before.



The path is: /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Omnisphere.settings/

and /Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.spectrasonics.omnispherestandalone.plist



In addition, the following paths should be checked to ensure that it is completely uninstalled/deleted



~/Library/Caches/

Search for Omnisphere or Spectrasonics and delete them.



Then, to be on the safe side, restart the computer after everything has been deleted.



Then reinstall Omnisphere v3.0.0d macOS - V.R rev 1



I then saw that there were no more problems with the app/VST3/AU file with incomplete signatures or any other signature issues.



Now everything is running perfectly and without any problems for me.

Great... I'm happy now.

Yeah exactly i forgot to mention Mac appcleaner, dl that and activate smart delete, then delete the omni.app and other omni related folders, aliases etc,
you can save the old folders, like trilian, keyscape, but only move when successful installation, also i downloaded patches for trilian rather old but it worked when saving patches from trilian.

 

Did you have to codesign the v3.0.0d VR rev 1?

 

Tried all the instructions mentioned for both VR and Guiseppe, multiple times. No luck

On Guiseppe's version the patch doesn't remain saved after 20 minutes but all the FX work fine. On VR Rev 1 the FX (Amps and Innerspace don't work), plus the oscillator waves will stay as a flat line.

You need to remove all again. use Mac appcleaner with smart delete, search hidden lib for omnisphere and spectrasonics, delete, make folders read and write in hidden lib application support, but preferences should be read and writeable also first when using keygen i guiseppe version so it writes spectrasonics,9.plist, then after activation lock it. the plist file.

STEAM folder should be read and writeable as app support in hidden lib. Remove the spectrasonics folder, so all is gone, then install guiseppe while being offline and when you install it and activate it, it says it cant find library, then move STEAM folder downloaded with guisepee release
use sudo chmod -R 777 drag drop folder, codesign all new vsts and app after install with guiseppe before activation with key gen.

You probably missed removing stuff, and app support in hidden lib and folders for spectrasonics is probably not read and writeable so it cant read or write or save.

Only lock .plist file in my instructions. Try again, remove, reboot. and do the steps, also give Omnisphere.app and DAW full disk permission in settings integrity.

 

Macbook Pro M4Pro Sonoma. Ty Johnny all you described worked perfectly, i'm impressed for the job done , also R2R work of course is fabulous, so quick done ! Just 2 things :
- Quitting the Standalone lead to the spinning ball... Have to force quit. Why ?
- Just installed it too on an Intel Macbook Pro i7 with Steam on external device : sounds loading very slowly. I fought the answer because this external drive was Exfat formatted ! So... Have to format in HFS+... (orAPFS).
Ty again so much, also Keyscape folder in the Steam folder after all done works too on mine.

 

Huge shout out to Mauwurf. I followed your detailed instructions to the letter and now I have a fully workable install. I'm happy now as well.

 

M2 Max Macbook Pro, Ventura
I followed the instructions exactly (except for the keygen because VR version doesn't need it) and Omnisphere refuses to locate the STEAM file. I noticed that the file path wasn't created upon install so I had to create the ~/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/ folder from scratch and move the STEAM folder into it. But when I open Omnisphere and it prompts me to locate the file I give it that one and it says

"Sorry, link creation failed."
"The STEAM folder does not have write permission. Change permissions on STEAM folder, and all STEAM subfolders, to include Write access. If STEAM is on a removable drive, use System Preferences > Privacy and ensure that the host/DAW app has full access to the drive."
^(The permissions are already on Read&Write for the STEAM folder and the parent Spectrasonics folder)

What do I do? I'd already tried the Giuseppe version and had the same issue with it refusing to recognize the STEAM folder, but I completely cleared out that previous install before this one with the instructions provided here (Appcleaner, etc)

Pls help :/

 

Also, when I was making sure I'd cleared out everything beforehand, I couldn't find these files you mentioned at all:

/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Omnisphere.settings/

and /Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.spectrasonics.omnispherestandalone.plist

Would those have only existed if I'd already been using a previous version of Omnisphere?

 

Try look at the name Spectrasonics, i did this mistake my self, giving it the wrong name, EG go to spectrasonics web, look the name, use that name with s in the end and it will find it, read and write priviledge, sudo cmod -R 777 <- drag STEAM folder in terminal ENTER

If its not finding, and all is correctly named, check read and write. Those files is not there because you have read only, so when u install they dont move there. you need all priviledges on. those folders, app support spectrasonics steam etc. Only lock .plist file.

Use guiseppe and the DL steam folder for that one, you can also try the other comment in this thread someone made, but i made it work perfect with guiseppe so positive you will too

Ok i will write a more detailed re-install guide, i tried to install the AudioZ Omni vst, and it messed it all up so i had to re-install.
What i did.

Spoiler: instructions

Use Appcleaner with smart delete.
Delete stuff in these folders ~/Library/Preferences/ <- look for omnisphere and spectrasonicsv9.plist just search omni and spectra for example and choose preference folder, it will search for files. Give ~/Library/Preferences/<- folder read and write priviledge.
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/ <- give folder read and write priviledge.
Delete again all omni or spectrasonics named folders or files use search and enter like omni or spectra it will find folders, probably just spectrasonics. Anyway delete.

Delete VST, AU, VST3 if you installed the vst from AudioZ upload. Delete the application omnisphere.app with smart delete on appcleaner.

Do a second search in application support, not hidden folder, basically look for omni stuff and spectrasonics, when all is deleted reboot.

Give Hidden lib preferences and app support folder READ and WRITE. Save instructions, go offline, make sure you have guiseppes STEAM folder downloaded. Re download guiseppe install just to make sure, 200mb or so.

Go offline and install guiseppe. Dont move steam. Have steam somewhere else.

Now codesign:
Codesign one at a time the VST3, AU, APP with one space after each command, drag and drop

sudo xattr -cr

sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine

sudo codesign --force --sign -

dont move steam. Open Omni.app be offline. and activate using keygen serial is after ch= so ch=sakhhdlsaldals then the text jibberish is the code.

Activated, close. Look for net.spectrasonics.v9.plist in hidden lib / Preferences and lock it, there is a lock feature, also make it read only if you have that menu, depends on OS X version.
Then when
Opening omni.app it should say cant find folder, but it should also create the spectrasonics folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics
Make sure all these folders are read and write. Now drag STEAM to folder to above folder, only STEAM with omnisphere in it. Fresh library, redownload the library to be 100% sure.

Now

Open terminal -> Sudo chmod -R 777 once space after 777<- drag steam folder in terminal ENTER. Still be offline.
Now it should work and find library. Open Omnisphere.app and all should work. If this doesn't work i'm positive you have read only in hidden lib folders such as application support and preferences, and also Spectrasonics, let the install and opening Omni.app create the folder by it self.

Then you drag new steam folder into ~/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/STEAM/Omnisphere
Make sure all these folders are read and writeable.

When all works you CAN make Preferences Read only, but before install it needs read and write to create the files.

I have been super clear now, try this and if it doesn't work try the other install. Im sure it is folder priviledge issues, and read and write issues.
When making the folders read and write, right click show info, then click the lock, enter password, change read and write to all dropdown menus. Its down on the bottom of show info.

When all is working, lock net.spectrasonics.v9.plist this step should be done after first activation. And give read and write priviledges before installing again, and double search for all related files.

Move or remove keyscape folder,trillian etc somewhere else. Remove those VSTs. Au etc to be sure.

Let me know if this works.
