Guys, tell me— is it actually normal these days that companies like IK Multimedia, who announced their AI VST tool “ReSing” as a free version, just delete that free version on release day and instead offer only paid versions?

How many musicians created IK Multimedia accounts for November 11th, 2025, just to get the free version and test if it’s worth buying the expensive full one? Like me, for example!

And now I’m supposed to pay 89 euros right away without being able to test it first...

@Yakaesha, marketing is all about grabbing your attention, ideally luring you to their website, and enticing you with free offers and discounts. A company doesn't give anything away for free; a company has to make money. Some do it the nice way, others the aggressive way, depending on the marketing manager, whose sole responsibility is to sell products.

 

Don't worry, I think the witches will take care of them...

 

The pre-order pricing is in effect because we didn't release the free version yet. We wanted to fulfill preorders and allow those folks to not have to contend with a huge spike in traffic/usage on our site and IK Product Manager from a lot of people downloading the free version. Free version will be available soon, though.

have you considered including voices for Trap (Male) and Classic (Tenor/Soprano) as well?

I doubt it. They cannot crack Vocoflex or Autotune 2026. I've lost faith in them.

 

I'm sure they'll be disappointed that zadiac gave up on those witches because of autotune, even though they just broke neural, mixwave, synthogy etc.

Which is exactly why I never mess with "free" versions of anything. Mainly because it isn't free. You're paying for it somehow - either in "creating an account", giving up personal information, filling your inbox up with spam garbage, or thru some other corporate sales tactical b.s.. In this case they catfish those who would make accounts - in which case they have an email and contact infos (I dont know who in their right mind would ever use REAL information for this) which they can resell to spammers or info gathering services.
