I actually wanted to keep version 2 in case the installation or version 3 didn't work properly; otherwise, I'd have to painstakingly reinstall version 2, which would take hours. When searching for version 3 in the plugin search, only version 2 is displayed, not version 3; you first have to delete version 3 from the VST3 directory.

Simply copy and overwrite the two files:

Settings Library
Soundsources

Have you Started Omnisphere click rescan waited, then quit it & restart Omnisphere.
Be sure you're doing all this from the Stand Alone app.

The "Moog Tribute Library" is under the "Benefit Libraries" see picture.

it's going to be revision after revision after revision. Like Serum. Except that where Serum lets you know full well (maybe in front of your entire Youtube audience during a much hyped "unboxing video"), GUI melting while you watch it; That plugin is going to have tons of sneaky stuff that looks like regular old problems with a new synth. But it's probably the same reason as the GUI melt.

 

Even that Bob Moog Tribute library shared version, when installed for use with legit OS2; would cause all sorts of dumb problems.

If you install shared Trilian on a Mac with legit Omnisphere2, it actually detects your Trilian is [k]d and it refuses to work either. Opens a page on their website and tries to rat you out. Or at least appear that way.

They have had years to make a new version and what percentage of that time was spent on this stuff? It's probably way higher than they would like to admit.

Is there anyway to get this running without installing TEAM R2R Network Block Runtime? I really prefer not installing extra stuff if possible.
without the runtime installed it gives an error about not finding Omnisphere.dll!

 

I don't think so, it's not really extra if it's crucial for the software to work properly. R2R is extremely trustworthy, if not the most, as far as the cleanliness of their work goes, assuming you have any anxiety about them.

You can try the TCD release. Little more complicated setup though, as you need Omni 2 already installed I believe. The R2R Network files are like 4-5 files that are 8kb each though, pretty unintrusive. From what I understand, they are just dummy files that dont do anything other than tell the programs "Yea, this is valid" basically.

There are quite a few traps you can fall into when updating to Omnisphere 3.
I have read a lot of comments and proposed solutions.

Wasnt gonna comment on this but...I been using Omni since the jump dvd install and all and this version is epic my god clean loading no glitch UI smooth as a babies booty its almost unbelievable its so good like wow almost doesn't seem real that an update could be this good

 

It even has Nektar Impakt hardware integration!

Agreed, you can tell they put a lot of love in to it while also trying to respect long time users' muscle memory with the UI. Newer users will complain, reasonably so, but it's nice that they did that. The new soundsources are incredible and there's an absolute mountain of them. Plus everything loads insanely fast on my SSD based devices. Haven't tried it on an HDD so I can't really speak to that world tho. Definitely having a great time with it.
