Cryptic video from UAD.

This plug-in is already available in DSP and native version. So, is it a new version or will it be available for free ?

UAD Ocean Way Studios Deluxe is now Native with Spark, it was only available as a UAD2 plugin. It's is also a new version from the original!

 

You're right, i've got it in my plug-ins but not in native version. It's strange that it's available now in native on their website and announce it for tomorrow ^^

 

Yeah, they labelled it as "Port+" and charging $49 to upgrade for existing owners.
Well that's bullshit.

 

They've seemingly given it the full on Sound City style makeover. As a non-existing owner I'll maybe buy it when it inevitably goes down to $29.

 

It's not a direct port. It has added controls, and a much better GUI.

 

I hear you my friend, and I have a long standing problem with UAD as how they handled me as a customer around almost 20 years ago with some bs not worth bothering everyone with.

I will say that I'm not unhappy that I was able to get essentially all of their native plugs a few months ago for around $100USD, (like 54-59 of them) on some quick sale they had that may have been a mistake.... and I do enjoy some of them a great deal... not all, and many I won't employ in my workflow... but their chamber/room stuff has been good to me in application, and others.... and veering more towards trying to legit own that which I actually use, and hey... patience and when I can find a great deal on those things, great. (UAD doesn't rank up there with smaller devs I prefer to toss my money at like Valhalla, Korneff, etc or Soundtoys (I know ST aren't really small fry but...).. )

NI can eat it in my book for a load of reasons, but I am unfortunately tied to Kontakt, but have eschewed the rest of their line that still exists for the most part and they've lost the thread I cared about the most awhile back... (imho, their golden era was a decade ago in terms of what I wanted/liked/and people there).

alas, so it goes. I know your distaste for anything iLok, and I get that, and I recognize I am just kinda stuck with that with some of the tools I use (whether ST, Eventide, UAD, and others)... don't like it.. and I prefer other means of cp for sure... but I guess some of these devs got me by the short ones on that and not much I can do (outside of alternative products, which I do investigate and test or try out thanks to sister site and some the great people we have that have done some wonders and both saved me money in crap that I would have spent money on fruitlessly, while simultaneously steering my money towards those devs that create a product that works for me... the ole' "try before buy", and while I'm no altar boy, hey... try and do the right thing by those who have provided and created tools I rely on...

Well I have just tried it and it does sound awesome but.... It's showed up in my spark subscription, but cost $49 to upgrade my UAD2 version. It is a upgrade from original plugin. A typical UAD strategy I would say
