they should do all the emu modules, just like with korg... however i prefer hardware.. i did recently a comparison... software and hardware.. the difference is quite big.. the hardware have some kind of better effects on the sound.. it does not loop, it just runs until you stop it

Good thing for the PIANOTEQ update, I’m going to stick with that and wait till I get my Mac mini to add that one, I thought it would only be 4 gigabytes… keeping Trinity and PS3300 but will probably use the cherry audio version instead cause it’s lighter

Anybody else having bad luck with trying to install the factory data for the SGX-2? The downloader takes a mad dash to 100-200mb, sometimes even 300mb, and decides it's done for the day, slows to a crawl, and eventually, annoyingly drops the download all together. What is happening here? A strained download server could perhaps be the impetus, but I can't understand why other Factory Data downloaders worked perfeclty.

My internet's more than qualified for the job, I don't have any Little Snitch entries for KORG as far as I'm aware, and other software of KORG's that have that sort of downloading sequence (EP-1, PS-3K30, wavestate native, etc.) had worked before. I'm even trying to pick at the application to find some semblance of a URL so I can manually download the factory data myself!! AAARRGH! :snuffy:

    Please help!

Anybody with Apple silicon chips want to report the cpu usage on Trinity? Want to make sure it’ll open up more when I get a Mac mini so if I can get a bit of an estimate on how it performs in combi mode it’d be great, it’s a shame it eats so much of my ROG Ally

I'd take the Trinity soundset over the Triton's ANY day of the week so this is excellent news for me, I've been wanting a TR-Rack for a long time but maybe I can redirect that money to a MOTIF-Rack ES. And speaking of the SGX-2, I wonder if Korg finally saw the writing on the wall. The workstation market's been stagnating for a long while (which I find really sad, workstations are my favorite kind of keyboard) and I never liked Korg's VSTs-in-a-box approach, it was revolutionary when they did it with the OASYS but the Kronos and its spin-offs are just half-assed in terms of execution and the "traditional" patches kinda feel like an afterthought.

Now, if we only could get Yamaha to come to their senses and do a ”Yamaha Cloud” or a ”Yamaha Collection”.

All the CS models (well, the CS80 has been done so many times now, maybe not that one again). All the famous nineties SY models. The AN1X. The FS1R. A MOTIF, either the ES or the XS/XF, but IMO the ES is better. A virtual version of the RS7000 groove box. The RX line drum machines. And maybe the famous SPX effect algorithms too.

Honestly it's best if we don't get a Yamaha Cloud. It wouldn't be as bad as Roland's but Steinberg is still really bad at making plugins post-Yamaha.
Cherry's GX80 is the only Cherry product I can vouch for, it's half CS80 half GX1 (but for accuracy I'd go with the Xils' The Eighty)
As for the AN1X, I think there was a way to use the PLG cards with PC hardware but don't quote me on that. As for the MOTIFs, old (and maybe even new) versions of HALion/HALion Sonic have a surprising amount of Motif/ES/XS sounds and if you want the XF sounds (and ONLY the sounds) the Montage VST -which is terrible by the way, it's technically multitimbral (but only up to 8 parts instead of 16 because again, Steinberg can't code anymore. I think they said they'd eventually fix it but it's at version 3.0 now so don't get your hopes up) but there's no OMNI channel option, all the parts respond to a single channel only- is perfectly fine. I hate(d?) the Montage because it always sounded artificially bright to me (well, more like V-shaped) and I could never get its XF patches to sound like my XF's but they sound absolutely fine on the VST so it must be an issue with the hardware. It has all the same Montage letdowns (being unable to properly load 99% of XF libraries despite the advertised compatibility, the UX being miserable, etc) but if you ignore the technical shortcomings it's fantastic as a ROMpler VST, I've always wanted to have the updated Montage library AND the XF library for when I don't want to boot up mine.
