I switched to R2R SILK emu due to too many license errors with V.R.. Works much better. However, with the updating thing and SILK - Tried DLing the new versions direct from SB website and it DOES NOT work. You need (or I need at least) the update as provided by R2R in order for the updates to complete successfully. That DL assistant b.s. is just that b.s.. I don't have internet connections on boxen running stein-ware or any other production type ware.

 

I use Cubase 14 R2R and whilst waiting for R2R I just use the Cubase_14.0.40_Installer_win64.zip from V.R (and nothing else) today and all works great uninstalling the previous version before then installing the updated version from the .zip
I've done this previously too and always been OK and then I just copy the license-engine-access.dll
from C : \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Steinberg \ TEAM R2R
over the license-engine-access.dll at C : \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Steinberg \ Activation Manager

[EDIT] Works like a champ on Cubase and Nuendo. Wonder why it doesn't seem to work with the installers direct from SB site?

obviously R2R's SILK emu works with EVERYTHING downloaded from Steinberg site, so please modify your previous message
