Those days were cool, man :boombox:
That's when electronic really started and began to grow. I don't know what the heck I would have done with my life if synths and drum machines and home recording hadn't come along when it did.

Kraftwerk, Jarre, Depeche Mode, New Order (Joy Division)..they all characterized the synth area. But most forgotten is Isao Tomita. He really made my day with his interpretation of "pictures at an exhibition". And Giorgio Moroder with his outstanding and never reached Donna Summer burner "I feel love". He tweaked his Moog Modular like a god.

I am afraid rick will send your Steinweg to the happy huntin g ground

Not to be misunderstood. Your Steinweg is great and very well worth the restauration but watching Rick....his nose speaks volumes

My first keyboard was when i was a kid, it was one of those old cheap organ/keyboards that used to howl like the wind when you started them up, and my first drum machine was about 10 years later, the trusty old Alesis SR16

First keyboard (if you don't count a piano) was some sort of beginner keyboard that Kawai made in the late 80's. Wish I could remember the name...

Well, flash forward about 12 years and as a teenager, I got into keyboards and synthesizers and purchased the following within about a year of eachother:
    Casio WK-1630 (meh)
M-Audio Oxygen 8 (the original one)
    Roland SH-32 Synthesizer (surprisingly good)
Zoom MRT3 Drum Machine (horrible lol)

Now I use an Arturia Keylab49 and an M-Audio Axiom 49 mkII with an Access Virus C and soft-synths. I use an Arturia SparkLE for drums sometimes as well (sort of a drum machine).

I've also used an Alesis QX49 (good features, AWFUL quality), a Line6 KB37 (good as an all-in-one solution if you need an interface), and a Yamaha NP-30 (good keybed, mediocre sound quality). But I ended selling them to get the better boards.
