    Those .mid files ARE firmware, this is the case for another of the plugins from the usual suspects, plus these files can be used to store patches I believe.

    firmwares can loaded from mid files, you can get from Roland page or you use the bin files, which are directly from hardware units.
    Both solutions work with JE.

    I have a old hp z600 with two xeon x5672 at 3.20ghz
    I use it most of the time for recording, because I still make music with hardware samplers and synths sequenced with my atari 1040ste and cubase 3.

    They are Bin files available from the Roland website (Google search Roland JP8000 Roms)
    Sounds are Bundled on the "Sister Site JP8000 & Stuff"... Links are strictly not allowed on Audiosex.
    CPU Usage is fine for the Alpha on my Macbook M4Max
