i was comparing them at full price; i dont understand the difference between "falcon 2026" and "sonic bundle"; since (i think) some of us have the "i want it all" syndrome, i think its fair to compare what both companies offer at their full price. They could have made a simple table with what one has over the other... Also, if you buy the $300 version, dont you have to pay extra for extra instruments; because if its that, than idk man... seems like a kontakt clone but with a limited pool of choice.

This is the type of answer i was looking for; even tho i have installed the trial 4 life version of the previous falcon, i never got curious about it post install... and that's probably because i was brainwashed by native instruments to just open kontakt every time i need some kind of instrument

 

@SingularPremises, Comparing Falcon libraries with Kontakt is not even apples and apples. Many of the UVI expansions for Falcon are not like Kontakt libraries at all. Kontakt libraries are strongest for real acoustic instruments, strange things cooked up by someone trying to make something that hasn't already been done. They are great for orchestral, film, tv, and other such work. The amount of great Kontakt libraries is extremely small if you want high quality content made with synthesizers. Many of the synth-based Kontakt libraries are made by small developers, or are homemade userland creations. Sure, UVI make the same kind of instrument libraries as NI; but they are clearly not their focus. You do have way more choice for those with Kontakt. There is overlap between them, but not as much as you would expect.

When it comes to actually altering and manipulating the sounds beyond those in the library, is where Kontakt doesn't even compete. Falcon is far closer to a Nexus 5 product than it is to Kontakt.

Sonic Pass is everything they make and all the content published. I do not have it, but you might want to tack on the cost of a new external SSD to it. Everything from UVI is iLok licensed software and content. If you are buying everything legit, then yes it is not cheap. Neither is Kontakt and all its content. Definitely not a kontakt clone, not even close. More like a complete modular system on steroids.

Most people who use Kontak just want production ready libraries. Falcon has this as well but in addition it also has an insane amount of synths/ samplers/effects/script modules built in to create just about anything you want. Like a Frankenstein'ed version of Kontakt and Reaktor put together. In that respect, Kontakt doesn't really hold a candle to it.

The problem with Falcon is that its deep, REALLY deep, so it can be very intimidating because the UI isnt exactly intuitive to wrap your head around. That would be the only flaw it has IMO. Outside of this, it's incredible and easily has the most powerful synth architecture and environment I've ever used.

Totally correct, Falcon is a synth, I'd never describe it as a rompler but ofc it has gotten way more advanced over the years and can now function as a rompler too.
I can't stand Omnis sorry, it doesnt look good and that gives me the feeling it's sluggish and poorly engineered. Maybe it's not, and I know it has world-class libs (Persing is a true guru I know). But I also know that Falcon has the edge synth-feature-wise, with good margin, and that's far more interesting to me.

 

I dont think its a fair comparison, similar in somethings but drastically different in others. They're both great IMO but it really boils down to what you vibe with.

Personally, I love how Falcon sounds... not just for its libraries but for the overall tonality it imparts. I find it very practical because it simplifies the mixing process of a track without over adjusting eq or compression. A lot of old romplers were set up the same way... its part of the reason I still use my Intergra7 and Motif racks. Makes it so much faster to get things to sit in a mix, even with very dense mixes. Basically the sound is mix ready, at least to me.

Guess I’ll have to have an instance of Falcon open on my two computers, go through each category and click on presets not on the windows list, as it is still on 3, not 2026

To me, Omnisphere over the years transformed into "ambient/cinematic/pad/atmosphere ..." machine.
I just don't care about elevator/game/film ... "music".

PS : sorry about using "ROMpler" for Falcon ... it is clearly not, even if i use it mainly like this

I have the uvi portal, I just have to load Falcon and compare the libraries to find the new patches, they will be on my Mac while my windows laptop has the previous Falcon 3 factory library without the 100 extra presets.
