Rest in peace, Spaceman. He played a huge role in the band's success. His music will live forever, and so will his memory.

 

RIP to my first guitar hero Ace Frehley. Inspired me to pick up a guitar 47 years ago. Yeah I'm old.

KISS blew my 10 year old mind, making me a massive fan for my formative musical years, and were hugely instrumental in igniting the touchpaper (appropriately) which led to a life involved in music. Ace was always my favourite member, and when they released their hubristic solo albums in 1978, his pissed over the others' efforts by a country mile. Apart from playing guitar, he regularly appeared to not give too many fucks about the ridiculous cartoon that KISS were, and it will always be satisfying seeing a fucked up, irreverent Ace nonchalantly winding up an overly serious and increasingly furious Gene Simmons in that Tom Snyder interview.

I lost interest in Kiss not long after Ace left, but the news of him hanging up his stackheels made me pause today. Rest In Power, Spaceman.

https://parade.com/ and other media had a lot on it, also that he had a huge (fight) argument with paul stanley and told him he wasn't doing a reunion, simmons supposedly fainted and bumped his Escalade into a parked car last week and was hospitalized. The band had huge issues due to the overinflated egos and controlling attitudes of stanley and simmons. The band was good in their era but time moves on styles of music change, it is 2025 not the 70's. Every week a well known musician dies somewhere but not all are known to us. RIP Ace Frehley, the founding member of the band.

According to reports, Paul Daniel 'Ace' Frehley (born April 27, 1951 in New York) died on October 16, 2025, in Morristown. He reportedly suffered a fall in his studio on September 25, 2025, after which he canceled all tour dates.

On October 16, 2025, it was initially reported that he required artificial respiration due to a cerebral hemorrhage caused by the fall. A few hours later, he died surrounded by his family in Morristown, New Jersey – according to the official statement.

 

He had one of the best laughs in the industry...
