Hi everyone! Does a real multiband limiter with adjustable treshold per band exist? L3 or melda has 1 treshold for every bands. Pro mb and others offers high ratios but I don't hear the same effect of a limiter even at fastest response times.

I searched and can't find a proper plugin for that! Thank you for your knowledge

 

You may wanna check DMG Audio Limitless. Not sure if it can give you everything your ask for, but it is an excellent MBL - in my personal opinion it is the best MBL out there.

You can use "Blue Cat's MB-7 Mixer" and put your favorite LIMITER on each band.

If you are on Studio One, you can use the splitter to create a multiband with any plugin you want, the downside is that you need to load more than one instance of the plugin for each band you want to process.

I use it myself in my projects sometimes, and I love it.
It has 4 adjustable Bands, and each band has a threshold, attack, release and gain knob.

 

I tried DMG and the treshold it's not independent but one treshold only

It has two stages. A multiband stage and a wideband stage. As any limiter like this should honestly. You haven't tried it properly.
The per-band thresholds are controlled via the EQ-like interface in the middle.

 

This is the concept I'm looking for! Is this the only plugin doing it?

 

It would be extremely shocking to me if you can't build your own using Melda's MXXX.

The multiband limiters, even if they have a high ratio like 30:1 or 100:1 still too soft respect to a maximizer / limiter, but every maximizers are not treshold independent

 

I agree that Pro-MB is too clinical and clean (which is why I love it). So if you want to go crazy with multiband, check Devious Machines' 'x6' and Minimal Audio's 'Fuse Compressor.'

You maybe already have this one. Small tip, usually when you are looking for a plugin or solution to an audio problem, and you have little or no luck finding something? You are usually either doing something wrong, or need a better search string. No matter what you run into, someone else almost always already has.

It's a five way splitter that allows you to load any of the other KiloHearts plugins on it. You can also just turn on the Aux outputs only, then split itt signal, and ouptput each band seperately, then put whatever limiter(s) you want on each band.

 

I hate this plugin so much. It always drives my sounds too much, when i mostly often search for multiband compression to clean up things. For sure has a sound but... Too crunchy for any of my duties.
