Waves central has always worked in the same fashion as long as I have used it anyway. You diligently take 10 minutes go thru a gigantic list of stuff, checking only boxes you want installed and press install. Then it simply installs the entire roster of stuff anyway, and you have go back and manually remove all the junk that you had so diligently rejected the first time. The problem being that to properly install the waves stuff with the waveshells, etc etc, is a rather complex undertaking without the central app.

 

i read somewhere about installing the legit waves central app and doing a "proper" dl (demo i guess) and install of the actual vsts you need and then applying any available "magic" and then when fixed delete the waves central app (or just move it out from its directory on mac). but i dont know how much that is a reality or if it works only on pc or also mac.


maybe someone could chime in and spread some light on the subject.

im curious about a couple of fx from the waves bundles that are out, but i refuse to litter my mac with that amount of files, in case its true that you cant just select what you want and are force to install the whole package..

 

You can really trim it down, but you can't really end up with only what you want. If you somehow end up with exactly every plugin you want and nothing additional, go to a casino and play the slot machines with the lemons, cherries, bells, diamonds, and 7️⃣ sevens. Also, keep in mind that the newest plugins added almost never work right for a few update versions.
