What changed with UAD iLok is that they no longer require you to use iLok Cloud for licensing, you can now just license offline with a machine license. So i'm assuming that if it's UAD they probably found some way to bypass the online auth and force an offline auth without phoning home to UAD servers, and that's probably what the DLLs are for.

 

I think the "save your money thing to get the pokemons and their balls" thing is probably referring to the UAD Native plugins, which they continue to release more and more of even though it takes them a while, and the balls would be the rest of the UAD-2 plugins, maybe?

Pokemons = Native versions of UAD-2 plugins
Balls = UAD-2 plugins trapped inside hardware DSP requirement...

I hope this is the case. It would send shockwaves through the plugin industry.

 

You keep hoping it has something to do with the Apollo DSP versions of the plugins. There is no real reason to even bother, if even the "Apollo-only" plugins are included with Spark. Like the Neve pre-amp everyone cares so much about. Can you see R2R releasing something that will only work for users with a UA interface? I can't see that at all.

It's not just as simple as something phoning home, either. As soon as UA Connect is not there, or inoperable; the plugins will not unlock for use in the DAW. they stay all fuzzy looking and doing nothing. They do not need to be online constantly. UA dsp (aka Apollo versions) do not even require UA connect to be installed, because the interface is enough of a dongle to them already.

There would be no need to block or spoof communication between the plugins and anywhere else on your network or another application on your machine; only the internet like any regular home calling.

Also about Pokemon and buying i guess it is going to be like few years ago that they start a big game that for each falcon library they did release one play library or something like this and maybe this time they will ask for avenger or vsl libraries.

 

yeah around summertime if anyone noticed that ua plugins started to load faster it’s because they dropped the mfrt protection and also wrapper they could be patch like any other plugin in case u don’t believe here is my attempt at patching them…

if not for the pokemon comment I would say UA also. But I say that only because I just got Signature Bundle 2 for 150 bucks, and that's what happens anytime I buy the legit version of something.

 

Should I delete legit UA connect and legit UAD plugins (tested for a year with Spark)?

I have a feeling that the team "-X-" is already on it. They haven't appeared for a while after releasing a few iLok plugins, could be busy with life, but they were able to break the harder iLok protection (R2R had mentioned it), so this should be a breeze for them.

Warpwarden has so many versions right ? Like the last one is paired with PUF of the third gen dongles .

Oh. Pardon my ignorance, I don't know much. The last time I messed with iLok, I was able to make a few minor changes, but the iLok killed my Windows somehow and I couldn't boot, I didn't bother again with it. I don't know if it was just coincidence though.
