it is a simple process of elimination. They are looking at was has been done already, and then looking at the remainder.

There are not many other developers left with nearly as many solid plugins. Native would be about 60 plugins. Maybe someone can remember something hardware specific external dsp they have done, but I do not. So this leaves a very small number of remaining developers they can guess from.

Because I still think they mentioned saving money for pokemon balls for a reason; I had GPT make a table of devs and products that have their own expansion content ecosystem going:

Hoping King R2R pulls off a solid catch Next month.
Been dying to catch that full UAD post myself.
With all this buzz and noise flying around, maybe R2R surprises us not just with one big one, but a couple.

Got this feeling like we’re gonna throw down a proper celebration at the spot that day.:disco:

Stop being a cliche. PT is not going to die and you wishing it so won't make it so. Now run along and play with your DAW of choice, a DAW that still doesn't have anything remotely like an AVID ICON/D-Command type controller, nor does it have the big edit/single page of PT where everything is right there (always multiple panes and single tracks at once or - worst of all - having to 'mix' from an on screen fake mixer with inserts all over the place).. or maybe you have that DAW with terrible waveform drawing and bad audio editing?

PT is still the best not because it was the standard but because it IS the best. I've used nearly every other DAW out there and used to 'hate on PT' just like you when I was a noob too. Then I got serious and realised cubase (bloated nonsense), S1 (terrible workflow for power users), Reaper (nerdgasms not for serious mixers), logic (terrible everything esp audio editing), and the other even worse ones like ableton and bitwig were all just nonsense. They COULD do a job but none of them worked as well as PT for actual recording, editing and mixing of audio. None of them had any really great control surfaces (Cubase now does with NUAGE but you can't get them as cheap as used D-Commands and they still aren't as good as them either).

So... by all means stick to whichever flavour of the month DAW you prefer but don't speak for everyone else who actually understand and love PT and get vastly more music done in it than all the fakers with their also-ran DAWs. About the only bad thing about PT is AVID and pricing... both of which are mitigated by 'warez' releases anyway. ProTip: Having 100x new 'features' in another DAW doesn't actually make them more worthy or faster/better to work with. Yes if you're a MIDI guy then stick with cubase, but for most proper musicians and mixers PT will never be beaten.

Now go reskin your Reaper for the 10th time this month while us PT guys get back to mixing and releasing music.

It's a shame that these guys are sitting on this site defending PT. Go better mix and release music, don't waste your time.

I see a large number of valid arguments. Please keep your subjective experience to yourself.

Pro Tools is a great DAW, that's clear. However, I don't think we'll ever see a cracked version of PT again. The last one came out over a decade ago, so... I'm super pessimistic about it. Personally, having Seventh Heaven Pro fixed after four years would be the best Gong ever.

i dont really want UAD, but i wish for it to be unwrapped from the turd called ilok and for developers like UAD to understand, that protections like ilok dont make your product more valuable.

I demoed UAD stuff a few times ... and its just for me not worth it.

Ohhh i see you havnt read any of my other posts here?

I´Looks like i hit a nerv here, why do PT users always have to insult other DAW users?

I am just saying if PT is patched, its just another boost for AVID and do we really want that? I dont think so ...

It's more like a defense. People here act like Pro Tools sucks or something. It's the most stable most advanced overall DAW I've ever used. Nuendo is #2. People on here be like "Reaper is all you'll ever need" when it can't even handle AAF's.

Mostly they do it about any DAW they aren't running. Usually it is something they claim to know how to use, and that's not even accurate; like the poster above. The amount of other DAWs they have bad stuff to say about, are the equal number they have tried and blamed for not being able to figure them out. :)

Protools does suck. Calling it the most stable and advanced DAW is laughable. They need to implement an open beta, because each version gets worse and worse, and they continually build on top without fixing things.
