yeah izo stutter would work, so would illformed (dblue) glitch...v 1 is dblue v2 is illformed? I don't get it but its a little easier to use than stutter edit and is like a multitrack sequencer, where stutter edit you play it with midi notes to switch the effects going on. Both are great though.

if it sounds organic sometimes it could be done with just a mouse or mapped knob, so you let Glitch1/2 doing stuff and pitching the sample manually... later on pick what works for the track..

Audiodamage Automaton is in the free and legacy section of their website for mac and windows: https://www.audiodamage.com/pages/free-and-legacy

It is a very small audio plugin (2mb) and quickly generates various "accidents" like this. It's old, so not scalable or any other things we expect in current modern plugins.

If you mean the distorted part that isn't the stutter: sounds like a bitcrusher to me.

    It should have both:

Windows_Automaton_120_Installer/$_31_/Automaton.dll: PE32 executable (DLL) (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows
Windows_Automaton_120_Installer/$_32_/Automaton.dll: PE32+ executable (DLL) (GUI) x86-64, for MS Windows

The Mac plugin works on Catalina, so you would be good there also. Their Legacy section has a bunch of other plugins, and I haven't tested all that many of them, and none on Windows. BigSeq2 works in MacOS Catalina too. They are kind of waiting on a rainy day.

That is freaking awesome, because I am essentially stuck on Catalina! I already forced an upgrade beyond apple's liking to get that far, I don't think my humble MacBook could handle going to Mac OS 11 :( Happily accepting M based Macs if anybody is getting rid of them! Of course though, then half my huge software library probably wouldn't work as well if at all, at least not natively

if it makes you feel better i´m the same with windows 7, i got so much stuff i cant even think about installing 6-7-8 different authorisations softwares, and hw upgrades at some point cant run windows 7 anymore, the latest chipsets for sure so i just chill and focus on what i have, i made a decision not to think about "speed" if i cant make basic stuff sound really really great...if guys back in 2003 with single core made hits, i dont see why being stuck on older quad or hexa core should be a limiting factor, nobody got out of the tunnel yelling "everybody, it is about cores and the speed!!!"

yep, I started on an Pentium 1 133mhz processor, eventually upgraded to two P3 733mhz coppermines, then Pentium 4s came around and we all used them but they were the hottest motherfuckers! Duo core came after that, and you know the rest of the story. When I was on the 133mhz I couldn't even use realtime software effects, I had to preview them in a plugin and then apply it to the entire track, which took forever...mixing a song down could take like 20 minutes...it was rough, we are totally pampered now! That's why my two main music computers are a 4 core i5 and the other Mac has 2x4 core Pentium Ds in it. I'm just starting to outgrow them, I really need something faster like a thread ripper or an m4.

But yeah, it's NOT a limiting factor, you still need the skills and talent/imagination to make good music, but as you get better and better you find the extra power from cpus and ram allow you to make bigger and bigger ideas into songs, but you do reach a point I think, where you're fine, you really don't need more to make what you want, it just makes things faster to have the upgrades.

I have a 2017 i7 15" macbook pro full ssd/touchbar, etc upgraded but I still use my 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 as my DAW computer. It has like 8 times the RAM as my laptop, dual Xeon processors, updated nvidia geforce, upgraded fenvi bluetooth/wifi pci card, etc. I have Catalina installed via dosdude's patcher, to go to Monterey would be easy enough, but after that might get tricky. It's the most stable computer I have ever used at home for a DAW machine, obviously due to having 2 cpus and so much memory. There were a few little things I had to do to prevent kernel panic due to running Catalina on unsupported hardware via patcher. There are a couple things I can't run, but they are very few and far between. I'll switch to Apple Silicon eventually, but it is not going to be because Apple or some third-party software developer decided we should all just buy new computers.

your Mac Pro sounds pretty spot on the same as my x-serve, two xeon 4 cores, 32g ram, 3 terabyte drives (no ssd in it yet), it literally is a Mac Pro in a rack case, which makes it very loud! But it's a powerhouse for making music. I probably COULD get it to Catalina, maybe I'll try but I have a bunch of music on it that needs to be finished and mastered first, don't want to chance having to wipe everything and find all those exact version plugins and all again!
