How does it feel to live under a rock? There's 30 or so libraries + Air Studios reverb with their own player/DRM. And that's not even counting the LABS+ subscription.

If a piece of software has already appeared on the scene, then it cannot be classified as "which never showed up before."

Spitfire has already appeared on the scene (releases existed in the past).

Why is PT blacklisted?

 

Everything important about Spitfire Audio (except BBC and Air Studios) has already been released. It's not something new or previously unreleased. The same goes for VSL. And in any case, I don't think R2R wants to get bogged down with 2+TB libraries. R2R cracks protections. In 2020-21 it was Metafortress and Wibu, in 2022 Arxan, in 2023 Acustica, and in 2024 Cryptlex. It could probably be a hard iLok in 2025, especially since that's the only thing left. Maybe UA, who knows.

Which "legendary" plugins are the most likely to have been supplied? My guess is UAD since they have dropped in price and come in bundles.

In my opinion, it all lies in the interpretation of the never before. Because technically, only UAD and CEDAR have never known the word warez since their founding. Honestly, it's not easy to decipher the words from the R2R Gods.

 

I think it must be UAD, VSL or the Spitfire program. Some people here and an sister site ignore the fact that the new r2r gift wasn't cracked before. So no Pro Tools, McDSP or Sonnox for sure. And brands like Cedar are not huge enough. As an example I never heart about cedar and I know many plugins on the market.

 

Wait wait wait.

When we say “never SHOWED UP before”, what exactly do we mean?

We've already seen VSL (2021), Sonnox (2012), SSL, PT (2021). So clearly, the software itself has been released before.

Initially, one might think it was never released by the original R2R group themselves. But in reality, “never showed up” implies that the warez version of this software has never existed on the scene at all. It was never cracked, distributed, or leaked.

For example:

• Spitfire Player? That’s just a player, nothing special.
• UAD? That’s a full vendor package, so “never showed up” would mean no one has ever released a cracked version of it before.

But then who is Huge Legendery Monster? Spitfire 2007 with Kontakt Player (released) and Sample Libraries (released)? or UAD from 1999 (never showed up before)?

R2R likes to wait until everything is released; UAD hasn't yet ported many things to native. Kontakt libraries aren't hacks. Also, VSL releases are VEPs, not major software releases, so R2R might not consider them a decent hack. Most likely Cedar, VSL . Also, UADs are generally cheap. And they would hardly do so many manipulations only for the sake of a few Spitfire products.
Each company's ilok security is different, so hacking one doesn't mean the others will be hacked.

Btw, we got Xils-Lab. Nobody has cracked new synths before, so I’m pretty sure we’ll get VSL7 as a "change"
