Oh. this reminds me of the best football game I ever played on the Amiga: Kick Off 2

I know, looks like shit today. But it was incredibly addictive.

I still play Actua Soccer 3 sometimes
I have the "bin" file/cd rip and I can the game with PSX emulator it has the funniest commentary ever huge shouts when players shot on goal
I bought Heroes 3 Complete on GOG when it was at a huge discount it's really good with the HD mod & FPS boost if you ever played HOMM3 back in the days on 60Hz...imagine it now with the mod for the official game now we can set the FPS to "sync" so on my 240Hz monitor it's butter smooth animations
And since Dave The Diver came to Epic Games Store I played nearly 60 hours by now

@Xupito I played "Kick Off" but on C64, indeed a great game, but now technology makes it possible to play arcade games at home :)

Nice, didn't know the first was for C64. I had a C64 but moved to Amiga and enjoyed KOff 2 like a sicko lol.
And I emulate the shit out of them. From time to time :)

But since I play my favorites growing up those are c64 -> amiga -> pc. A couple of Super Nintendo and Play One ones that my pals had

Of the arcade MAME only Street Fighter II. The port to SNintendo was very good so I barely use the MAME emu.

Currently playing the very long awaited (for me), Hollow Knight Silksong

Also just finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 not long ago... really good game. Crazy long intro / slow start to the game almost made me not play it, however!

First Silksong came out, now Hades 2 (though it was early access before). Great time for indie games (or at least smaller studios if not actual indie)!

Impressive how much immaculate sound design can do for these games, sound+music add a lot. Great games otherwise as well, I wouldn't be gushing otherwise.

I played/beat the first Hollow Knight, and I'm on to Silksong now. I'm guessing im maybe at the halfway point or so. I will say it is good, but also not blowing me away. So a tiny bit disappointed.. but still enjoying it. The original DID blow me away, but that was quite some time ago now, and maybe that set the bar too high for me. I am a big fan of Metroidvanias and also Souls-likes though and have played almost all the good ones.

A couple months or so ago I played Mandragora (a metroidvania AND souls like) and I had so much more fun with that one. To me, it's a better game, and is also indie developed. I avoided it a while due to bad reviews, but I think a recent patch fixed all the problems as I absolutely loved it. It's kinda similar in play to something like Blasphemous, probably.

@Synclavier I played this a lot in the arcade in the early 90's but never finished it, now I have the chance and opportunity.

i do that too finished several tiles from the childhood recently, Retroarch is a godsend

There’s something cool about the simple gameplay of those old console games. You don’t need to read a manual or get used to complicated controls, you just play - brainless fun

I use M.A.M.E. but the Windows version, I don't like the Linux version, I have a complete set of games from SNK arcades (Neo-Geo), CPS1, CPS2 (Capcom), a few classics and that's it, this is enough for me for a long time :mates:

You know, i played it on Atari ( and i always wanted the graphics to look more like Amiga's )... and it still was one of the most fun summertimes and well swell spent time i rememeber

This is one of those games, that kind of proves it is all about the internal functions / tactile feel etc. about the game, the looks kinda come second, bc seriously/honestly i have been looking for games that have even some of that feel... and looks like got to go back to the orginal source

Still figuring out how to make this work in Launchbox though... i want to play either the original Amiga and Atari, and kind of want to avoid the other ports
