Audio cutting to beat (Don't know how to say it)

    The cutting in this vocal track. Has it been manually cut to the beat of the track or is there something that does this?

    The effect you're looking for is the audio stutter effect, or in Ableton language, "Beat Repeat".
    See http://youtu.be/tQYO9F_dnqM and search for other "beat repeat" or "stutter effect" videos.
    There are many VST plugins doing this, you'll find them on youtube or google too.

    Don't dis the best metal electronic tracks in the world.
    Anyway It sounds like that because the audio track has been inverted in attempt to remove the instrumental. It jumbles up the vocals and sometimes gets staticy when inverting.

    Oh okay awesome! Thanks. I really like how they used it in those tracks.

    just sounds like it's out of time not perfectly quantised that kind of bugs me i don't know why. each to their own.
