Hi everyone,

I could surely use some help regarding the installation of SD3 from our beloved sister site.

The first thing I did - Windows 10:

1. Install Toontrack Superior Drummer v3.4.1 Update - V.R – WORKS

• I assume that this is both the standalone and VST even though it says “update” – correct?
• I tried to install the one called Toontrack Superior Drummer v3.3.4 CE-V.R as well, but the following issue still prevails.

2. Install Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 SDX Core Basic Sound Library WiN/OSX

• Whenever I try to install it says the following:
  "Could not copy
  "SL-SuperiorDrummer3/GraphicsV3/Cymba l/Electronic/ElectronicCymbal_Animation_C.png".
  Try again?"
• 
• I gathered, maybe I needed to open the: “Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 Core Library Update v1.3.0 (SOUNDBANK)” but then the following pops up and leaves me unable to continue (greyed out and unclickable).
• 

Is there a specific directory setup that I’m missing? I can’t for the life of me get it just install the first of five parts.

My goal is to install SD3 with it’s Core Library and other SDXs in the future.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just read through both links you posed, and I am yet, not wiser. Would you care to elaborate as to how this fixes the issue?

You've got to install the base version Superior drummer 3 first. Then the update.

I see. Is the base version the: Toontrack Superior Drummer v3.3.4 CE-V.R from 26th November 2022?

I tried to install that one (the v3.3.4). It worked. Then I attempted to install the Core Basic Sound Library and got the same issue. I'm quite confused about the update/base version, as it is not clear to me. On sister site, it doesn't say "update" – the v3.3.4 – so I assume it's the base version, but then the actual file says: Toontrack Superior Drummer v3.3.4 CE Update.

 

First, you should make sure that the folder containing your Setup.exe has a very short name. If possible, shorten it to a single word, otherwise Windows will simply freeze due to its 260-character limit.

The easiest way to install any Toontrack plugin and content, is to make a main folder where you are going to put everything. Normally I do this using an external drive, but it doesn't have to be. So say you create a folder like d:\Superior or whatever you pick. When you extract all the files, stick them all in there. Their plugins do not even demand great organization; you could use a dump truck if you wanted. After all the content is installed, install the actual plugin normally. In the plugin, you go into the preferences and find the setting where it shows it is currently looking for content. You edit that to your /Superior folder you created, and that's it.

It is way easier than you would expect when you do it that way, and it's the same thing for everything they make.

 

You only need to install Mics-2 and 3 if you're going to be doing surround mixes. If you work in stereo - the Core + Mics-1 + Additional + updates is all you need.
