Just wanted to give an update to other forum members to see if they're experiencing something similar, or have found workarounds.

KatFile.cloud now completely refuses to work for me with PIA VPN (any location), and whenever I click anything on the website, it attempts to redirect me to "https:/w w w.revenuecpmgate.com/v18za0af?key=fa7ca959b1ead54b82268399d8e4e98b".

It attempts to redirect me with EVERY SINGLE click. I use uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger and strict filtering on Firefox.

Eventually after closing the popup windows, Katfile will proceed to the next step where I have to complete a Captcha. Every single time I successfully complete the Captcha, I receive a "Wrong Captcha" message from KatFile and cannot proceed to get a link. This continues in perpetuity.

This is new behavior for them. I am not a noob, I do not have a virus on my computer, and I guarantee that I am not the only person experiencing this behavior.

Let me know what you guys think.

 

In my opinion, Katfile has been attacked by hackers. Wait a few days until Katfile gets the problem under control.
We all have the same warning you have. Just download from Rapidshare.

 

Works fine here, no problem.
With Chrome, directly or with a VPN ( extension: "Free VPN" ).
With Opera, directly or through the included VPN ( "Europe" ).

check your Ublock Origin. Yesterday mine said it "will be discontinued soon" or something. But then I just removed it and reinstalled it and now it no longer shows that error. There are a bunch of new comments on the Opera Extensions "store", from users of other sites saying sites have begun detecting Ublock and doing this sort of things.

If you get "wrong captcha", I got that one too because I overblocked everything on the page. I also got a 500 NGINX bad gateway error from it.

I am using Opera v114. Wrong Captcha now also.

I tried reinstalling Ublock Origin on Firefox, no changes in behavior. Disabled UBO on Firefox, no changes.

Tried Brave browser with no UBO or privacy badger extensions, identical behavior as Firefox with revenuecpmgate popups.

Still using VPN, but I have no issues with VPN on other sites. Rapidgator works fine.

 

same results for me. when I first overblocked the site components, nothing worked and it was a nearly blank white page.

Now it appears to work right up until getting the Wrong Captcha result, even though it did popup the captcha, get solved, and showed a green checkmark. Still no go. Im going to try it with ublock disabled next, but for obvious reasons I would rather not.

 

Same here. Tried all the workarounds still getting "wrong captcha" error. It was fine earlier today.

 

I also use Opera and have no Issues, plus the bonus of using Opera if you just right click on the right of the page you are viewing and save it as a PDF.

 

Going in ye olde fashion way, firefox w/the usual extensions and proton. Same experience. Attempted redirects, can't pass captcha. Realdebrid works just fine when visiting a katfile page though.

 

KF is seemingly working OK from the debrid but that doesn't vouch for the stuff coming off of there. If it's been hacked for real then the stuff DL'ed from there could be tainted as well. Been steering clear of KF until the all green gets sounded.

You guys should get comfortable using NoScript for dealing with things like this. Granted, I don't like using it on my desktop because the default behavior breaks EVERY website, and it takes time until you whitelist everything you use, but it is a godsent to keep shit like this far away from your browser. You can still invert the behavior and whitelist everything and then manually blacklist the stuff you don't want, but that's not the intended way of using it (if the purpose is keeping you safe from surprise JS attacks).

 

Ah, so that's what that was. I had this happen to me too yesterday and thought it was some kinda bug, but I can definitely believe that they'd do it on purpose to people who have Adblockers enabled.
Unfortunately this also happened to Deepbrid recently, but at least they tell you that they won't let you download anything until you've disabled your adblocker. That's why i don't use it anymore and so far i haven't found an alternative.

 

Working captcha confirmed with adblockers paused.

 

The best alternative would be a real debrid service like Real-Debrid or other. When used with JDownloader, depending on the debrid service and the hosting company; it will follow links right from the peeplink links, bypass the captcha, check if the links are still valid with files online, and downloads them without you even seeing the hosting company's webpages.

It's working again today without changing any settings. Either they had a problem or heard an uproar about it.

 

Why and how did this happen?

 

Been happening for a few days. I usually don't bother logging in to my premium for the files sizes about or under hundred MB's but katfile wouldn't let me download anything because of wrong captcha. Their API that queries Google after successful tokens to update the captcha result is broken, hence always wrong capctha regardless of the result. Not sure if their backend is broken or hackers got the better of them.

But Now I don't want to use Katfile, after they informed their porn uploaders to remove the child sexual material. Instead of being tough on the issue, they tried protecting pedos. That tells me all I need to know about the guys who run Katfile.

I hate dat shit. It's not working for me as a free user no more and not working in a debrid. I. HATE. DAT. SHIT. Why you need to break the whole website just because of problems in Taiwan. Make .cloud domain working just for them. Keep .com for the rest of the world!
