And I'd be happy to take it :shalom: In all seriousness, we're indeed thinking of sending it as a demo to some labels... I'm just not sure it's that radio-friendly. But yeah, this is the first of 8 songs that are in this production stage, so to speak. So we're looking at an album! :guitarhero:

Well, you have the potential – to my German, European ears, it's radio-friendly.
You're missing a sponsor or a big cash check. Stick with it, and I hope you stick together and keep going. I'm a fan of your music.

It would need a better mix. People will often say that most "radio music" is not all that great; but if you can separate the music from the mix, it's hard to say the audio production standards are not stratospheric in most cases. If you listen to "alternative" radio stations, there are tracks of similar style frequently. On other stations, it would probably be produced more into nu disco/house-ish music. If it was done professionally and "perfect", it's not much a stretch to say it could be radio-friendly.

I think they just need to keep going and not get stuck on mixing/mastering right now, it is too much of a hassle for someone who is not into loudness and "stuff".

Quick few versions potentially louder a tiny bit

I mean this is done with a mp3 file, but at least there is something to hunt for

I see, thanks for the insight! The thing is, we didn't want it boxed into a set genre like house... we have our influences and are still trying to find our own formula. I get your point though about it not sounding professional, which is another matter. We'll keep working on it!

Thanks so much for that! I'm glad the drums survived the volume boost without getting mangled. We're still torn between chasing loudness and sticking to the mantra, if it sounds good, it’s good.

It's kind of impossible to get "boxed in" with only one song, or even one album done and out; but this is what i meant by "house-ish" also. One of my favorite kick drum tricks to add bass is to sidechain a sub using a test oscillator plugin and a noise gate, so it just triggers/auto-plays a simple sine wave on the kick track. You wouldn't call something like that house music on it's own; but you will invariably end up with production techniques borrowed from electronic music or disco. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, it sounds like you know what direction you are going on your own sound; like gathering up ingredients for a recipe. Now you have to put the time and work in so it turns out fully baked. A lot of times it is the reverse, which usually ends up in entirely forgettable junk.

Nice vibes. The mix could use more stereo imaging and less highs + more bass as a foundation. More dynamic movement.. Start with gain staging properly and pan your sources and set your desired volumes. Then I'd highly recommend using Izotope Balance 2, and ADPTR MetricAB for reference. And my 3rd plugin I could not live without is StandardClip. It reads and allows for perfect peak control :)

    Congrats on your release!
